Hi there! This video will answer, what is a royal antelope? Hmmm, it must be a big fancy
antelope that stands tall above the others with horns that reach the tree tops (at least
that is how I would picture a royal antelope). But, that is about as far off as you can get.
The Royal antelope is the tiniest antelope in Africa. These little fuzzbutts only grow
to be about 10 inches at the shoulder. And they only weigh 3 to 6 pounds.
The males have tiny horns and the females have none.
These tiny ungulates are a reddish brown with white under their chins and on their chest
and tummy. Their bodies look pretty heavy to be held
up by their spindly legs. Oh and their back legs are longer than the front ones and that
helps give them a bit of speed. When you are that small, everything wants to eat you.
So, there is a little about the Royal Antelope. These animals are very shy, so when you go
to look up more information, be very quiet or you might scare them off.
Thanks for watching, we hope you enjoyed our little animal fact.
