Now back to the music.
This is one called... I think Elvis did this.
The way that I try and help children
who've got movement difficulties like Daniel
has developed because I think
that getting them motivated to learn movement
is the most important thing of all
and clinical movement sessions
are not going to get them motivated
in the same way as ordinary activities
that they really, really want to learn.
And so working in this way
in collaboration with school and with parents and with the child
seems to be a very successful way
of getting them to learn what they need to learn.
And to some extent they choose the things themselves
that they really want to do,
and if one can add
some sort of back-up and encouragement and guidance for that,
I think one has done one's job.
And in Daniel's case it does really seem to work.
Here is a boy whose score on the Movement ABC
hasn't really changed that much,
but who's living a very full life,
is excited by what he does
and his latest school results have been absolutely excellent,
his school report this term has been really, really encouraging.
You'll definitely love this.
