Hi everyone I'm Wendy Hudson with American Crafts and today I'm so excited to show
you the American Crafts' new Chromatix Markers.
The Chromatix markers come in three different ways. You can get them in a thirty-piece set,
the three piece set,
as well as the open stock version here.
Now with these blending markers, they're alcohol-based and because of that you're
able to create amazing projects just like this one.
You can see here that you get all these different versions of shading.
You get to pick three different versions, three different options. There's light
medium and dark. The light being number one, medium number two, and the dark number three.
So what I'm going to do is start here by layering down the lightest color, which
is the number one. You'll notice here on the barrel it's got a picture so you
know which cap to take off. This is the brush end, and this is the medium tip
for journaling or writing notes on your cards.
So you can just take the cap off and you're going to take the lightest color
first and you're going to lay down your color. So notice here I'm not making
streaks, I'm just doing little circles. So you can go around just like this, and lay down
this lighter color.
One thing I love is just with one marker you can also add darker shading
over the top
of the lighter color that you've just layed down, which is kind of nice.
But the effect we're trying to do here is the lighter color and then you can
take the number two marker here, which is your medium,
and then you're going to start to shade and highlight and add some depth to your art.
You can see that the paper
is getting a little bit darker,
but it is blending beautifully together.
Then, the next layer I'm going to do is the third.
Again, the picture is on the barrel. Take off the cap and then you just start
adding a little bit darker
shading along the base.
If you're really artistic you can think about the light source, but again I'm not
very good about that.
See? As I'm laying here it gets darker and darker and then the outside has that
lighter effect.
One last tool I'm going to show you is this blending marker. This is an important tool.
It's light, it's colorless,
and you can take it and actually soften up any colors that you
want to blend and smooth together, and takes out any demarcation lines at all.
And there you go. You can take it, cut it and then layer it on a card.
This is just a really fun opportunity for any of you who want to become an
artist and really aren't. That's why I like them. If you want more information
