How to Record Pc Gameplay - Like battlefield 2 - For free

Hello and welcome to my video on how to capture your gameplay for free For those of you out there looking for a free alternative to Fraps I would highly suggest you go online and check out this freeware called Taksi. That's T-A-K-S-I And it's a completely free application you can download from their web site to record your gameplay If you notice I'm not actually using Taksi to record anything right now I'm actually using Camstudio to record this video the reason being is that I find Camstudio is a great way to record your screen On the other hand Taksi is a great game recorder so it will record what you see in your gameplay And before I show you the actual configuration settings that I use for Taksi let me quickly show you a video clip of Battlefield 2 that I took I recorded this about half an hour ago and you can see that the quality is great you can actually read the text here, it says you killed stbrsosa23 The only real downside about Taksi that I heard people talk about online is that it won't really let you record audio but honestly I've never actually tried it so you could try it and see if it works for you But that's just what I've heard... you can't really record audio from what people say online but otherwise it's a great application and considering it's free I would definitely suggest you try it out so with that said let me show you my settings Go into configuration and go into the format tab I change the FPS rate down to 15 because you really don't need 30 FPS to record and view your movies I think 15 is plenty and by lowering down the FPS it would let you have a much smoother gameplay and it would also reduce lag the second thing I did was go into video codecs and I left the compressor at Microsoft Video 1 A lot of people like to go down and change it to Divx but honestly I tried it for about two hours and I couldn't get it to work so I decided to leave it at Micosoft Video 1 I find it works just as well for me as long as I leave the compression quality all the way up to one hundred and also the data rate to the maximum which is around 10000 with those things, the last thing I would suggest unchecking Half Size Video Frame, the main reason being that it didn't really work for me when I tried to use that and Divx at the same time but you might give it a try and see if it works for you With these settings I hope it would let you record your gameplay for free without using Fraps and please let me know if it works for you or if you have any questions and suggestions, just send me an email so thanks for watching any comments and ratings are appreciated
