I'm Amelia Smith and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to talk to you about how to do the
perfect blowout. People tend to get confused about what brush to purchase for their hair.
What you are looking for in a brush is of course is first of all what style you are
trying to achieve. If you are trying to achieve volume then you are going to want to use a
round brush. If you are trying to achieve smoothness then you are going to want to use
a paddle brush. So round brush for volume, paddle brush for smoothness. The paddle brush
is going to help to really smooth that hair out and brush that curl out then of course
holding the dryer you're going to be really get it nice and smooth. The round brush is
where you'll really be able to lift that hair up and away from the scalp and get that volume
that you are looking for. Now what you are looking for in a round brush of course is
the size and size does matter with the brush. The larger the brush the more smoothness you
are going to get, the smaller the brush the more curl you are going to get. So depending
on what brush you are looking for I recommend having two sizes in your arsenal. This one
is great for smoothing around the sides of your head and the smaller one is great for
the *** area and also for the ends if you want a little bit more curl. You can also
get into the really super large brushes and the super tiny brushes, those I find that
they are not for the average person. They are more for your specialty hair dressers
and stuff like that so I wouldn't even worry about that. As far as the type of bristle,
personally I like a plastic bristle I feel like it grips the hair better, also it doesn't
tangle in the hair. Whereas the kind that have the little balls on the ends those tend
to tangle, those are the ones that I have seen that you would have to cut them out of
peoples hair. I'm sure everyone has experience that once. But once you get used to using
a round brush and really it is a lot easier than it seems, you can't live without it,
it really does make a difference in your style. So just go to the store and get someone to
help you find the perfect round brush.
