George Shelley pays heartbreaking tribute to late sister who would’ve turned 22 on Christmas Day
George Shelley left fans in tears as he paid a moving tribute to his sister Harriet Shelley who wouldve turned 22 on Christmas Day. Sadly Harriet passed on 28 April after suffering devastating head injuries in a road accident.
The sister of the Union J singer was just 21 years old, and her older brother took to Instagram to post an emotional tribute to his younger sibling, admitting he endured the toughest year of his life.
He wrote: I wasn’t going to post, but I just came across this picture… everyone needs to know how beautiful my little sister was.
Every ounce of her body was pure gold and anyone to have been graced with her angelic energy was in love at first sight and very honoured, he added.
He continued: This last year has been toughest year of our lives, and although it was both Christmas and Harri’s birthday yesterday, we managed to get through soaked in love (and tears), but still with smiles on our faces.
You live on through us, through me, and your being has inspired so many people to become the person you would be proud of, including me. To say this year has changed me is an understatement.
You’re helping me through it, I feel it. Through the pain, and through the darkness. I’m going make it all worth something. Fans flooded his posts with messages of love and support.
No words, love never dies, together forever, forever together ***, a fan commented. Another added: Such beautiful words x. Harriet spent a week in intensive care before her death, caused by injuries she sustained after being hit by a car in Bristol.
Following her death, five people received organ donations from the student midwife – including a baby, according to an inquest.
Harriet’s brother Will and his girlfriend attended the inquest on behalf of the family. They said afterwards that no one is to blame for Harriet’s death.
