I am Lasse Klötzing from Berlin
I am 22 years old and have been sailing since 1998
and have been sailing 2.4mR since 2005
I have got a nerve disease called HMSN
In the beginning I only modified my boat a little bit
For example, normally the jib sheets are positioned near the shoulders
But I had to move them in front of me
I also added a bit of purchase to be able to pull them easier
The next step will be adding a self-tacking jib
because I am no longer able to pull the sheets in breeze to still compete with the very best
Sailing involves a lot of work
but for me it's really important that there is no more difference on the water
Both handicapped and normal sailors are on an equal footing
That's really what fascinates me about sailing
