If you work at a home office and you want to stay productive, I would definitely recommend
taking care of your physical body. And I talked about this a little bit earlier when I mentioned
that it's really important to make sure that you take breaks, that you eat breakfast, you
eat lunch. Sometimes when you work from home and you don't have that set schedule, it's
easy to just kind of forget about yourself. But one thing I find that helps is to kind
of have some provisions at your work station. And that takes you from getting up and walking
in to the kitchen, and walking to the sink to get a drink of water. It kind of keeps
you more focused. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't take breaks because you should. But this is
something that keeps you from taking too many breaks or getting distracted when you should
be working. So, you know, hydration, that's a huge one. I know it might sound a little
off the topic but I just was just reading a recent study where like it was a huge number,
like eighty percent of US citizens are chronically dehydrated. I guess as a nation we don't drink
enough water. But when you do drink a lot of water studies have shown that is has such
incredible positive physical affects. Well, you know, and with your ability to think clearly
as well. If you think about it you know, blood and oxygen, if you want to oxynate your brain
with blood, like it just helps so much if your body's hydrated, to kind of think clearer
and to feel more physical energy. So, you know, keep water in near by and drink it often.
I like to keep healthy snacks too, because if you're feeling hungry and you want a granola
bar, for me, I like to, I snack a lot. I think someone's who primarily using their mind as
their work tool, you can burn a lot of calories just buy sitting at the computer and thinking.
And that might sound a little odd but really you can use up a lot of energy, even just
kind of being creative. And so you want to give yourself some brain food. Just make sure
it's healthy, you know, use common sense. But I find that if I let myself kind of snack
on food every hour or two, then I don't have to get up as much and I don't get distracted
as much because I have kind of the things I need right here with me at the work station.
So, It's just something to consider. You'll want to come up with a system that works well
for you.
