Yeah, Yeah... I'm going to take this in the other room
Alright, For A Good Time Call
Bringing to you what feels like a premiere to me. Because it's only available to certain theaters across the country.
In one in particular in Edmonton, where I am, it's only open for this weekend.
So on that it kindda felt like a premiere and it's a B movie at the same time, so it fits in perfectly like that.
So I say it's a B movie, and it is. In all walks of life this is a B movie.
Dispite having known Actors/Actresses in here, it is still a B movie.
You have to expect that first before you go to this.
That aside, we have a comedy here. So I'll just go off on the story.
The basic idea here is summed up in the trailer really well.
You have two people who had a feud back in the day, but are now moving in together as roomates in order to live in New York City
One really conservative girl, has lost her job and so now has to find another means of living
And that one is Seth Rogan's wife. Lauren Miller, I had no idea.
But it is, so...
The other one, Ari G... don't remember her last name
Up t'ill now I've only seen her in backround filler roles.
Nothing big, nothing mainstream. This is, for me, one of the first times seeing her in a main cast.
Her back story is that she does everything and anything in order to make ends meet as a job.
One of those jobs is phone sex operator. Lo and behold, we have a movie about phone sex operators.
Since this is about phone sex, the comedy comes naturally. Obviously it isn't hard to pull a joke out of something phone sex related.
The only problem I had was that they try to put a little extra story in it than they needed to.
The actresses here, in my eyes, aren't quite the best actresses I've seen out there
It tends to be a little weaker when you have to build these down times. So it gets a little weaker and gets kindda slow.
So I mentioned the actresses. Seth Rogan's wife I don't think has any acting experience, as I haven't really seen her in anything else
And they're asking a lot from her. It wasn't needed but they put it in there anyways. For that I feel bad for her, but the comedy was well done, and that she shined in.
The other one, another actress where I haven't seen many performances in, other than the backround party girl.
I believe she has lots of potential, and can do really well. But she's not quite there yet. She does do better than the other actress though.
Still when they force a lot of drama in there she didn't do to well. Though she didn't ruin the scene.
Just I think in those parts it was a drop in overall performance, and kindda slowed down
I'll go off on comedy now, as this is a comedy. Like I said the jokes were really easy to write for these people.
It just rolled allong, and I laughed hard at some points.
Also there are some memorable quotes in this. As in a comedy for me there has to be some quotable lines or quotable material.
You can still quote the movie. And that's something that's important to me in comedy, that you can quote the material.
Justin Long was also in this movie, he dosen't have a big part, just a few scenes here and there.
On that note there were a lot of cameos, a lot of people were put in here and there.
I was suprized, and wasn't expecting to see them. Not going to ruin it for you guys, so go out and see the movie
That's a cool and interesting part
The only bad part I found in this movie were those dramatic scenes, and there were quite a few of them
and it kindda just slowed down any time they tried to put a twist or story piece in there.
There really just trying to put to much effort into making this really dramatic, when they could have just summed it up and made it more light harded in order to throw more jokes in there
