GOP Chair Reince Priebus made the rounds on morning shows yesterday to assure the public that the Republican Party would unify behind presumptive nominee Donald Trump before the election in November, but even a little Bailey’s-in-cereal hair of the dog can’t cure the massive Trump hangover the GOP is feeling this week. Wall-to-wall cable coverage highlighted the “mutiny” within the party and “crisis” the GOP is facing, with prominent Republicans burning their voter r registration cards and still pledging to #NeverTrump. But most awkwardly, while Priebus touted party unity in two televised interviews, Trump said within the same hour that he doesn’t “want everybody” to unite behind him. A note to our friend Reince – before you go on national TV preaching about party unity, you might want to make sure you’re on the same page as your party’s presumptive presidential nominee.
