One of the reasons I came to Poland was I wanted to live a real winter:
be cold, have snowy weather because I'm fed up with rainy winters in Brittany.
Actually, I had clichés about Polish winter.
Is it really cold?
In summer, it's ok because it is between 0 and 1°C. But in winter, the temperature goes down : -10°, -20°,-30° until -40°.
When I packed my bags, I took all my warm clothes to be ready to face the cold Polish winter.
T-shirt
Long sleeve polo
Thin sweater
Warm jumper
Fleece jacket
Coat
Ski cap
and the hood over the ski cap.
Hey Mum, I'm ready to go to Poland!
But when It started to be cold (down to -12°), I continued wearing the clothes I used when the temperature was +12°.
My mum was not there to tell me I had to wear warm clothes
I put on a ski cap but I don't like ski caps !
Not when it's on my head but when I take it off

This year in Poznan, it was not very snowy. And the snow we had turned into ice.
The Polish spread sand everywhere to prevent people from slipping
It's a good idea but there is a problem : snow and sand remain stuck under your shoes
and when you enter a building, it melts on the floor which becomes very dirty.
I feel sorry for cleaning ladies. Oh! my own floor is dirty too !
I don't have a cleaning lady.
I noticed that Polish people are quite chilly
I was surprised because I thought they would wear T-shirts when the temperature is 0°C. It's not the case.
This year Polish winter was strange because it wasn't very snowy and it was cold for about 2 weeks.
Global warming
After this Polish winter, I notice that I don't really like cold.
snow is quite fun for one or two days but after it begins to be very slippery.
Actually a rainy and windy Breton winter is much more fun
My house is 300 meters away
I'm happy that winter is finished especially as my electric heater is broken!
See you soon
