I get more relaxed, start to think more about people as well. I believe this
changes a lot: the attitude that you take to the rest of your day-to-day routine, not
only during the hours that you spend doing volunteer work.
Buy 1, give 1
"Atados" is a social network for volunteers: we connect people with
non-profits in order to narrow the gap between the NGOs and the third sector
as a whole. Our proposal is to organize volunteer work in Brazil and get people to
know more non-profits.
Well, Greentee's folks are like close friends, young guys who, like us,
undertook an endeavor with a social bias, something we like… we started some
conversation, we didn't know exactly what should be done. And then we
started this experience: the little t-shirts they donate would be directed to children
assisted by NGOs in our network.
And I believe Greentee comes with this purpose: to strengthen also NGOs that work
with us.
It must be really cool, I still haven't joined them in a donation myself, but I
definitely need to do so soon, kids got to love it. Every tuesday I go to an NGO
called Criança Brasil, and the kids get super excited when I say I'm going to
give them a little card, a brand new t-shirt would make them happy, for sure.
I look forward to joining them and get to feel this, kids must love it…
I believe it's an important shift so people start to think more carefully about some
social issues, not only when they are actually doing the volunteer work,
helping other people, but also when they are buying a t-shirt, so everytime they
are buying something, they are aware of what they are buying.
I'd like to invite everyone to take part in more social projects, get to know more
about them, be it via Atados, or Greentee, or any other organization which support
these sort of initiatives that are currently on the rise in Brazil.
