Hello everybody! I am at Nice, France, to test the new Ford Fiesta ST.
This Ford small bombshell develops 182 PS/HP from a 1.6 liter EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline engine.
In the maximum acceleration moments, like now for example, the car develops 200 PS/ HP
and the torque increases from 240 Nm to 290 Nm.
The sound of this engine is awesome! It is throaty and powerful.
Fiesta ST reaches 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds; only 0.4 seconds later than his big brother Focus ST.
This figure places Fiesta ST at Polo GTI and Ibiza Cupra’s levels. There is only one model faster than Fiesta ST:
the new Renault Clio R.S. It reaches 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
The new Fiesta ST can be ordered with three special colors and among its interesting
equipments there are the red lighted side skirts, Recaro sport front seats and instrument cluster
with red gauges and white figures, apart of the ice blue gauges and white figures
that less powerful Fiesta versions have.
Ford has chosen to offer Fiesta ST only with 6-Speed manual transmission.
The only models that have a similar gearbox are Corsa OPC and Peugeot 208 GTi.
Otherwise, all the cars in this segment - weather we speak of Polo, Clio, Ibiza or Fabia – they all come
with automatic transmission, six or seven gears.
For us to enjoy everything this car has to offer, Ford thought of an ESC system that works in three ways.
The standard mode has the ESC turned on as well as some very fast interventions as the system detects
uncontrolled movements; then, if you press the ESP release button once
it goes into a Sport mode that lets the back of the car more play more;
and the third mode is the one where the ESC is turned off, recommended only for the track.
As soon as you get in the car and you drive the first hundred meters, you notice that
Fiesta ST car is a very, very rigid one and even so the suspension works pretty smoothly,
it is silent and only in larger potholes it starts to feel bad and noisy.
Besides the engine and suspension, the steering of the new Fiesta ST is also very impressive!
The car scores very, very well on corners and stays exactly where you put it.
With a starting price of 19,250 Euros with VAT in Romania, the Fiesta ST has all the necessary aces up in its sleeve
to satisfy any sportsmanship appetite of any driver - amateur or pilot.
