These adorable polar bear twins made their first public outing at Munich's Hellabrun
zoo after being born there at the end of last year. They played around their enclosure,
under the watchful eye of their mother Giovanna and didn't seem too bothered by the crowds
of people which had gathered to see them. The cute cubs are a very happy addition to
the zoo, which had waited some 30 years to have a set of twin polar bear cubs born there.
The cuddly 14-week-old fur-covered animals appeared to enjoy the vast open space of the
zoo's outdoor enclosure as photographers and camera crews vied to grab the best pictures.
Being typical toddlers thoughb they managed to get themselves a bit mucky playing around
on the grass and mud, and one also had a bit of a wobble while trying to master the art
of climbing trees.
When the cubs were first born, there were worries that the mother may not accept them
or feed them, but thankfully Giovanna took to them very easily, and was protective but
clearly proud as her babies made their first public appearance.
