Hey guys, it’s Ro! Welcome to another Nerdy Nummies, I got so many requests
from you guys to do something from Mario, so today we are going to be
making Bob-omb Truffles! Let’s get started!
The things you will need, will be: A box of brownie mix, 2/3 cup of sugar, 1 cup
of flour, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 sticks of butter which equals 1
cup of butter. You’re also gonna need to decorate some black candy melts,
a bag of Gardettos, we are gonna be using the small baby pretzels
out of this bag.
Some mini M&M’s, regular M&M’s, a mixer, I’m gonna use a hand mixer today.
Then some rainbow licorice rope, and some white frosting.
Now let’s put it all together!
The first thing that we’re gonna do is whisk together our dry ingredients
in a big mixing bowl. So you’re gonna add your brownie mix, and your flour,
and sugar, and whisk it up!
Now we’re gonna add our butter, I’ve melted mine in the microwave,
just make sure it’s totally melted, re-oop! And, our vanilla extract.
Now we’re gonna mix it together until it’s well combined and it will be really
thick. Once your fudge mixture is ready, we are gonna be rolling them into
small little balls. Right here I’ve got a cookie sheet with a piece of parchment
paper down so they won’t stick to the tray. And you’re just gonna take a pinch,
it’s a little bit crumbly, so you’re just gonna pack them together gently,
and then gently roll them.
You can make these any size you'd like, but truffles tend to be on the
smaller side, and I like them bit size!
And then then you’re gonna do this to the rest of your truffles.
Once your truffles are rolled, we’re gonna put these in the fridge for
about 1 hour, to fully chill. And right before we take them out, you’re gonna
want to heat up your black candy melts.
After your truffles have chilled, we are going to dip them.
And here I’ve got the black candy melts all heated up, I’ve got a little fondue
pot that keeps them warm. But you can use the microwave! You can just heat
them up in the microwave and dip them into a cup or a bowl, same difference!
This just makes it a little bit easier.
So you’re gonna take a toothpick and just poke 1 of your little truffles,
then we’re gonna dip the little truffle, go all the way down, straight down.
Let the excess candy drip off, drip-drip-drip-drip-drip-drip-drip!
And then we’re gonna place it it into our styrofoam block over here.
Then we’re gonna do that to the rest of our truffles.
Time for my favorite part! Time to decorate!
Take 1 of our little dipped truffles, and we are gonna attach 2 yellow M&M’s
on the bottom, ooh, we gotta flip upside down. For the little Bob-omb feet.
So right here, I’ve separated a bunch of yellow M&M’s, and I’m gonna take
a toothpick and dip it into our melted candy, and put a little glob here
at the bottom, so that the feet will stick. And you’re gonna take 2 yellow
M&M’s, and attach ‘em!
I’m using the curve from the side of the plate to attach the feet so that they’ll sit at
a really good angle. Aww, just like that!
And then you’ll do that to the rest of your dipped truffles.
The feet have had plenty of time set, and now, here’s the Gardetto’s mix,
it’s a snack mix and I’ve separated the little baby pretzels.
These will be the little cranks on the back of the Bob-omb.
We’re gonna do the same thing as before, but attach the crank at the back of
the Bob-omb. Put a little glob at the back, boop-boop-boop-boop-boop!
Then you’re gonna take a little pretzel, put it back on the plate,
and use it as an anchor. Then you’re gonna attach the little pretzels on
the rest of your truffles.
Got all of the little pretzels on our Bob-ombs, and now we’re gonna make the top
of the Bob-omb, the little fuse. So we’re gonna take some mini M&M’s,
I’ve separated a bunch of them, here’s our little blue M&Ms.
And we’ve got our rainbow licorice, and we’re gonna peel out the white.
And we’re just gonna cut about 1/2 an inch, and then we’re gonna
use the same technique using the melted candy. Just dip the toothpick and
a little bit onto the end, just a little bit. And then we’re gonna stick it
on the top of blue M&M. and we’re gonna hold it there until it sets,
it sets really quickly, so you don’t have to hold it for very long.
Dee-dew! There’s our little fuse! And now we’re gonna make 1 for every truffle.
Now we are gonna attach our little fuses, so you’re gonna take 1 of your truffles,
and we’re gonna remove the toothpick. And to do this, it’s really easy,
just pinch on each side of your truffle, and twist-twist-twist-twist-twist!
And pull! Now we’re gonna take a toothpick again dip it in the melted candy,
put a little bit at the bottom of the M&M, and then we’re gonna stick it
right on top, where the hole is.
Our Bob-ombs are totally assembled now, but we are onto he final decoration
step which is adding their little eyeballs! Over here, I’ve just got some white
icing, in a plastic baggie with a number 2 tip,
and I’m just gonna be frosting on their little eyes.
Da-dew! That’s what he looks like!
And now we’re gonna do the rest of our Bob-ombs!
Ta-da! Here are the Bob-omb Truffles that we made today! I hope you guys
liked them, they were super fun and easy to make!
I’ll be posting lots of pictures of these little guys on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and
Instagram! And if you guys make these, please take a picture and send me a photo,
I get a big kick out of seeing your baking creations!
It just kinda makes my day! And, if you guys have any other ideas for any
other Nerdy Nummies, please let me know, leave me a comment down below
and I will do my best to make it happen! Alright, thanks again you guys!
