Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge. I've been homeschooling since 1998. How do you start homeschooling?
How do you get certified to home school your kids. Well, it really depends on the state
where you live. Where I live, we have to register with the school system and let them know that
we'll be homeschooling, and then once a year, we have to send in test scores for our kids.
Where you live, the rules could be completely different. Usually, you don't have to be a
certified teacher in order to be able to home school your kids. And in fact, you don't have
to have a college diploma to be able to home school your kids in most states. You do need
to stay up with what your kids will be learning. You can't teach them something you don't know
yourself, but if you're willing to do the work, most states are more than willing to
let you do it. The easiest way to check to find out what the requirements are in your
state, is to go to www.hslda.org. That's home school legal defense. They have a listing
on their website of the home school rules for every single state, and you can check
there to find out what the rules are for your state. Then, just follow the requirements,
get in touch with the authority that you need to get in touch with, and you're on your way.
So, you can go ahead and start homeschooling at anytime. I'm Linda Wooldridge. Have a great
homeschooling day.
