The trick for how to boil an egg is not to boil the egg. Cooking eggs the wrong way will
give you a green-ringed yolk like this that??s only desirable in Dr. Seuss Stories. For perfect
hardboiled eggs, first place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and add enough cold water
to cover the eggs by 1 inch. Place your pan on the burner and turn the heat to high just
until the water starts to boil. Okay, yes, we do bring the water to a boil, but only
for a moment. As soon as you see boiling action, remove the pan from the heat and put a lid
on it. Let the eggs stand in hot water for 15 minutes then drain off the hot water. Add
ice water to quickly cool the eggs. Let eggs sit in the ice water, replacing ice as it
melts if you??re feeling ambitious, until they are cool enough to the touch about 15
minutes. Once eggs are cooled, drain the water and peel or refrigerate for later. Using this
method to hardboiled eggs will give you grade AA results each time
