hi, in this video im going to teach you how to make sushi rice , how to cook sushi rice
what you'll need is a rice cooker
a bowel a spoon
a towel
rice vinegar
sushi rice
water
a fan and some sort of large kitchen bowel
preferably a wooden bowel japanese usualy use one called a oke albeit
but i dont have one so
i use this instead
the key to good sushi is good sushi rice
so you realy want to take the time washing the rice. dont rush this step
soft slow movements making sure the rice looses its startch evenly
now i have finished washing the rice til the water ran completly clear.
and i have drained it off in a sive
now i'm going to add the rice to the rice maker
add a 160%
water
and leave it in here for about fourty to forty five minutes
the rice cooker will finish in about twenty minutes but i leave it in there twenty twenty five minutes
just to let it absorbe all the moisture and liquids, and let it get to
the right consitency.
you just shake the padel arround and you slowly drisel
some arround keeping a consitent flow and getting a nice even spread over the rice.
now i want you go all the rice vinegar in there, then you want to start cutting in to the rice so that you can spread it out. and theres no lumps, so that the rice vinegar mixture
is evenly spread out in to all the sushi rice
now you begin cooling it down to room tempertaure
now you can use either a blow drier
for this, or a hand fan or i like to just use the lid
of a plastic container which is quite nice.
and easy to use peice.
and you just flap it arround
