Insights into Rosh Hashanah, with Karen Berg.
What can a new student hope to receive
from the Rosh Hashanah experience?
I'm sure when they walk in
and they see everybody in white,
and a solid mass, a wall of people,
thousands of people, it can be intimidating.
But eventually there's,
so much warmth in that room,
that they will find someone there,
wherever they are,
that will help them through the prayers,
will help them through it all.
And I think the eventuality will,
they'll feel, they should feel one of two things:
One is they'll feel that,
"Oh wow, this was a lot of work."
But it's like when you finish a really heavy job
you know, and you get done with it you go,
"Well I can't believe that I've done so much."
And a sense of accomplishment,
a sense of feeling that, you know that
I've contributed to a tremendous group effort.
And also a sense of belonging.
And I think that most people will
hopefully feel that on the last day
of the two-day period.
