gitchy gitchy yaya dada I’m excited about travel because this a fantastic opportunity now for
Canadians to travel abroad. The Canadian dollar is soaring.
By the way I saw the pilot clean his windshield &
because I have the camera there when I saw the co-pilot reach out, I had to film it.
I’ve never seen that done before.
So here we are, April 10, rising Loonie - great for travelers hard for businesses
Canadians traveling abroad are clearly winners. Fantastic opportunity.
Very soon Cindy and I will be heading down into the United States
Great opportunity because our loonie is higher than the the US greenback and I’ve
talked about this for a long time that whenever the Canadian dollar clients it's opportunity to travel in the states
and so we look forward traveling down to the States
And again if you're trying to take the kids to Disneyland Disneyworld
California Florida Arizona where ever you want to go
New York of Washington DC whatever you want to see
Opportunities abound and the prices in the states are fantastic
whether it's accommodations,
restaurants, eating out, dining out, drinks, because all these different things are way less expensive
in the States that they are in Canada
And that's something that Canadians know because they travel hordes
Down to the USA. Take a look at our border crossings.
But this also applies if you plan to travel to the caribbean
Our high dollar and the fact that in the Caribbean right now, there it is a decline in travel and tourism.
Americans are traveling as much. Their economy is hurting.
They’re still looking at a million foreclosures this year. Europe is hurting. Take a look at Portugal, Iceland
Greece Spain Italy
All these countries are hurting.
So it means that there's less travelers less tourists.
So if you're a Canadian and you’re able to travel, there’s great opportunities abroad.
Now at the same time I’ve got to tell you that if you're a local travel tourism operator, in Canada
It’s going to be a tough, tough year ahead.
The high dollar means that the already diminishing American travelers will not be coming up.
They would have a sticker shock at our fuel prices!
Even I do. I mean in December 2010, when Cindy & I were traveling we were paying
$0.99/Litre for unleaded gas. Today it's almost $1.32/Litre in the Okanagan.
That’s more than a 30% increase
And that's going to translate into everything else along the roadside because
For farmers orchards, every everything goes up from when the price of fuel goes up
So they're not going to be beneficiaries. that's why that CTV article is saying businesses are going to have a hard time.
But if you're a Canadian, employed have good money and are able to take off, the opportunities are fantastic
Check out some Caribbean destinations in México Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Cuba.
United States Florida - along the gulf coast. California, fantastic opportunities.
And very soon we’re going to have our 3D SONY handycams
And we're going to be heading down to let you know what it's like down there because
It’s fantastic already. Cindy and I have traveled down along the west coast of the
United States to San Francisco.
Love it! But we were in the real big rush that time.
Now we're going to take our time to go to explore different things.
Spend some more time in specific destinations.
Just enjoy the fantastic opportunity that's afforded for Canadians travelling with the high Canadian dollar.
Thank you for watching, stay tuned and get out & travel.
YOLO! - you only live once. You don't know what tomorrow is going to bring.
So enjoy all that today had has to offer.
Thank you
