In SLR photography one of the biggest quality issues photographers find is poor focusing.
Many assume an SLR will automatically focus exactly on what you want. This is not necessarily
true. Automatic Mode (often called "idiot mode" by experienced photographers) can't
read your mind. You need to make the camera do what you want.
Get an SLR..
Read the manual.. As boring as this may seem, if you want to
take good photos, you need to be familiar with your camera. 'Focus' on the "Zoom" and
"Manual Focus" sections of it. Take the camera off auto!.
Try the "P" (Program) Mode. This is likely to be the most effective for shooting your
photographs. This will allow you more freedom to manipulate the picture.
Look on the lens for the zoom ring first.. This is where you zoom in and out). Next and
most important to this manual is your focus ring. This is where you adjust the focus manually.
It is really simple: Zoom into your target. Then the much smaller focus ring you just
move back and forth till your desired target is clear.
Thank you for watching!
