Insights into Rosh Hashanah with Michael Berg.
Favorite Memories of the Rav on Rosh Hashanah.
I always remember the Rav, Abba's,
preparation, concerning all of Rosh Hashanah,
but more specifically the blowing of the Shofar.
And it was clear that this wasn't just a study,
this was serious preparation for very important work.
And then watching the Rav as he used those meditations,
certainly not thinking only of himself,
but for all the people in the room
and really for the whole world,
knowing that he had to, it was his responsibility
through that work, to bring life
and Light for so many people for the entire year.
I always find that very inspiring
and every Rosh Hashanah I think back both to the
time spent before Rosh Hashanah
studying with the Rav about Rosh Hashanah
and then most importantly, watching the Rav
as he did that very important work on Rosh Hashanah,
To bring all that Light for all the people,
not only, again, in the room, but for the world.
That always amazed me, the part where he would stand
for four hours with his feet together and unmoving
until after the blowing of the Shofar,
it was perseverance like
I've never seen in another human being.
