Hey guys! My name is Erik, I'm 26 years old and I'm from Gothenburg, Sweden.
When I first heard about the Add1Challenge a couple months ago
it was unfortunately already to late for me to apply for it, so I missed that opportunity,
but I'm not gonna do the same mistake this time.
In less than a week from now, I'm starting my first semester of Japanese
here at the Gothenburg University.
And actually two years ago I started studying Mandarin Chinese,
but it's gonna be a little bit different this time.
Not only have I acquired a lot learning skills when it comes to learning languages
and I know a lot [more] about myself, but I've also prepared with
some resources and tools and apps that I will use during this semester.
Apps like Memrise, when it comes to remembering vocabulary.
I will use a podcast called the OpenLanguage.
They've been around for maybe 7 or 8 years when it comes to Chinese
and I think it was maybe a month ago they started with Japanese
so it's gonna be really fun starting with that,
as well as writing kanji, the Japanese characters, using Skritter.
I've got a pretty good sense of how far I got after my first semester of Chinese.
So it's gonna be fun, when my semester of Japanese is finished,
to compare those two. I think I'm gonna see a lot of differences.
Hopefully, in a good way.
During these 90 days I will keep a journal--
--I will keep track with a journal. I will write it every day,
and after the first week, after 45 days and on day 91 I will record
a video of me, talking about my progress. Actually on day 91,
I will record a video with me, chatting with a native Japanese
having just a chit-chat.
So, I'm really looking forward to this. I hope you will follow me.
Just subscribe to the channel, check out the Add1Challenge hashtag and
have a good one. Bye!
