Yes, I swear For example, Action, Souvenir demand, surprise boutique, café art, cliché long, important petite, unique innocent, argument observe, continu embrasse, esteem (estime) concert, déjà vu absence, accident age, adjectif adverbe, adore analyse, ballet beaux arts, bon voyage lingerie, change chance, calm vexed (like vexé), comfortable imagine, shock (choque) selective, naïve romantic, satisfied (like satisfait) relax, reject pure, production confusion, content creative, culture et premiere So, 20% to 30% of words in english have french origins It is more than 30 000 words There are also some english words in French, though. For example, like Toaster, Bumper Joke, wiper parking, bacon break, gun, cash, check-up and check cool, hot coach, challenge feeling, fan goal et goaler hold-up, hot dog, hamburger interview, job leader, match Ok, piercing record, slogan sex-symbol (:P), shoot show, snow (For snowboard) skate (For skatebord), star Stop, Stress T-shirt, week-end steak (bifsteak), lift ***, weird, luck, fun and party That means 5% of french words have english origins But, the great winner is... the english-speakers! :P Because, they use all the same 30 000 french words The difference is the english-speakers don't know They don't know they use french words when they speak. Whereas, French-speakers know when they use english words Because, they recently added theses words in their vocabulary And English-speakers have used french words for a long time ago. So, that's it.
