The This Morning presenters shared Twitter tribute to their late co-star
RUTH Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have shared a touching tribute to their late colleague Denise Robertson.
The This Morning presenters shared a snap as they travelled home from the agony aunt’s funeral in Sunderland.
In the photo Ruth’s husband is shown sitting on the train, holding his glass up to the camera.
Eamonn's wife captioned the photo: “Denise always told me that I had a good man in @EamonnHolmes and she was SO right....cheers Mrs Robertson x.”
One fan commented: “Thinking of all the @itvthismorning team today you gave Denise a beautiful send off she will be missed so much.”
This Morning's agony aunt passed away on 31 March aged 83 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Denise was a part of the This Morning team from the beginning and featured in the very first episode that aired in 1988.
Her funeral service took place at Sunderland Minster and was followed by a private burial.
Family and friends including Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes attended the service at Sunderland Cemetery in Grangetown.
Ahead of Denise’s funeral Eamonn had tweeted: "Heading with @RuthieeL to Sunderland. It's Denise Robertson's funeral today.
A sad day but we will also celebrate her life."
Holmes had been away on sick leave following a double hip replacement, but returned to work early to present a special programme in Denise’s honour alongside wife Ruth.
He said: “She was a national treasure, I don't think we will see anything like that again."
