So, sometimes when you take pictures and you want a really good picture you find yourself in the weirdest spots.
I found to get the best shot in downtown Dallas right now. I am in the middle of empty field in the middle of an urban area.
But it's going to pay off, because the sun is gorgeous, the buildings look awesome, we have some great clouds.
So, right now I'm using a "55-300" telephoto lens and that's photography jargon for "Wow, this thing zooms in a whole lot!".
It's kind of like a telescope.
I love telephotos for things you physically unable to get close to.
If it's a sporting event and you have to sit in the bleachers. Or you're in a weird field out in the middle of nowhere
and you want to shoot the top of the building. Telephotos are the best way to get that done. They are the only way to get that done.
One thing, that is kind of a problem when you are shooting zoomed in all the way in the telephoto lens,
every little movement you make is actually magnified, like, half an inch turns into half a mile before you even know it.
This camera has steady shot inside of it, which means the camera is making up for those little bitty shakes. And you're not going to lose your photo.
I am zooming in as much as I possibly can on downtown Dallas. And even though I'm this far away, I kind of feel like I'm on top of a building.
I'm terrified of heights. And the only way I'm going to get
a good picture of a top of one of those buildings, other than climbing on top of it, is from way far away and this really hardcore zoom lens.
