Before you start our motorbike VVMX450, check the following things:
1) quantity of the fuel in the tank. We recommend to use 100 octane fuel because of its quality.
2) The surface of the liquid of front and rear brake. Check the surface of the liquid in vertical position of the bike. The surface of the liquid should be above the sign “MIN.” When the liquid is on the “LOWER” sign or under it, check the wear of the brake pads. Used up brake pads should be exchanged. If the brake pads are not used up, check if the liquid is not leaking. If the clearance of the brake level exceeds 20 mm, there is probably some air in the brake system and it must be bled. Visit your seller to do it professionally.
3) Always use fresh brake liquid DOT4. Do not mix various kinds of liquids. They do not have to be compatible.
Check- up of the cooling liquid in the cooler
If the surface of the liquid is low, fill it into filler neck. Check the surface of the liquid before every ride. The loss of the cooling liquid is 20-60 ccm over the overflow tube is normal. If the loss of the cooling liquid is higher, check the cooling system. The filling VVMX450 is 1l of cooling liquid. Use the liquid with the boiling point 135 Degrees Celsius. Do not use drinking water. Do not open the cover of the cooler when the engine is hot. You could be burned by the hot liquid. Always check the amount of the cooling liquid when the engine is cold.
Check the completion oil in the engine
CAREFUL! The engine has 2 fillings. Use motor –oil semisynthetic 10W40 for 4-stroke engines.
Measuring of oil on dipstick of engine part:
1) Let the engine go for idle for 3 mins and then switch it off.
2) Wait for 3 mins after the switching off the engine to allow uniform distribution of the oil in the engine.
3) Prop the bike upright on horizontal surface.
4) Unscrew the cover of the filling dipstick on the left side.
5) Check if the surface of the oil is between the upper and lower guideline of the surface
6) If the oil is near the guideline or under it, fill the recommended oil until it reaches the upper guideline. (but do not overfill)
7) Again screw the cover of the filling hole and check again. The amount of the oil of the engine part is 850 ml.
Measuring of oil in the area of clutch and transmission
There is a control screw on the right side of the cover of the clutch. Unscrew it and check the amount of the oil. The amount of motor oil 10W40 for clutch and transmission is 750 ml.
Check of the press in the tyres
Check the tyres and wheels before a ride. Carefully check any bumps or bulges on the sides of the tyres or on the pattern. Change any tyre which has bumps or bulges. Carefully check incisions or rifts on the tyres. If you can see inner fibres or cloth, change the tyre. Check the position of both valves.
Inflate the tyre for pressure 0.9 – 1.2
Setting of the clearance of the front brake
Set the front brake with the help of locking screw with safety nut. Release the safety nut and set the clearance of the front brake for approximately 2 cm. Make sure that the front brake works for 100 per cent.
Important part of the check-up is setting of the rear brake. Check the wear of the rear pads including the back disc of the wheel. If the pedal clearance increases by warming of the brake, it is necessary to carry out the exchange of the liquid including bled. Carry out the adjustment of the pedal of the rear brake with the help of the screw of the brake cylinder. Release the locking nut and set the clearance of the pedal. Do not forget to fix the locking nut after adjustment of the clearance. The clearance of the pedal is approximately 1.5cm. The clearance of 1.5cm is thought between the boot and the pedal of the rear brake.
Setting of the clutch clearance
For VVMX450 is possible to use control of the clutch with cable or with hydraulics. When we use the cable, we must provide adjustment of the clearance. The clearance of the cable is important for good effectiveness of the clutch. We set the cable approximately to 2 cm. It is possible to elongate is length and reach a softer clutch. VVMX450 uses 6-spring clutch and has several levels of hardness of the spring according to the claim for slip. For good changing gears it is important to set the gear shift. We adjust the gear shift according to the size of the sport boots. VVMX450 uses 2 kinds of gear shift. For bigger boots there is longer gear shift available. You can also set the gear shift by various ways.
Air filter
Dirty air filter reduces the power of the engine. The proper maintenance of the air filter is very important for the run of the motorbike. Dirty, soaked with water, used-up or broken air filter enables dirt, dust, mud and other particles to get into the engine. If you ride in very wet or dusty areas, do the service of the air filter more often. The air filter or your bike has very specific request s. use new original air filter or any other of the same quality, which is convenient for your model. Use of incorrect air filter can wear the engine ahead of time. Wrong maintenance of the air filter can cause bad efficiency and early wear of the engine.
Cleaning of the air filter:
1) Dismantle the seat.
2) Unscrew retaining screw of the air filter.
3) Take out the set of the air filter from the frame of the bike.
4) Wash the filter in special liquid for moth, next wash the filter in hot soap water, wring out properly and let it dry.
5) When the filter is dry, spread it with oil for moth filters and drew it.
Chain of the secondary transmission
The life expectancy is dependent on right lubrication and set. Bad maintenance can cause wear or damage of the chain and chain wheels. If you ride on very dusty and muddy roads, more often maintenance will be needed. Before the maintenance of the motive chain switch the engine off and check if there is neutral in transmission.
Check-up of the tension of the chain
1) Switch the engine off, pick up the rear wheel with the help of working stand and set the neutral.
2) Check the slack in the secondary chain in the upper course of the chain in the middle between the chain wheel and the rear rosette. Slacking in the chain should be set so that it enables vertical movement with your hand: 25 – 35 mm.
3) Check the slacking on several places of the chain. Slacking should stay the same. If this is not so, some segments can be stretched out or blocked. You can avoid blocking of the segments by lubrication of the chain,
CAREFUL!
Excessive slacking of the chain can damage the motor housing.
Lubrication of the chain
For maximum expectancy of the secondary chain it should be cleaned and lubricated and set before every ride. We use special lubrication for enduro use.
Check-up of the lights, blinkers and wiring
Before you use your bike in the road traffic, check the function of the lights, blinkers and wiring. Functionality of the whole wiring is very important for your safety in road traffic.
Check-up of the tightening of the screw connections
Make sure that the retaining nuts are fixed by prescribed tightening torque. Use torque spanner. In case some connections are often loose, use a special glue for screw connections. The most frequent part of the check-up is fastening of the screws on the rear wheel of the rosette, than coating the wheel axes, check-up of the screws, stirrup of brakes, check-up of screws, handlebars. Adjusting of front fork
Front fork is fully adjustable according to the claims of the customer. The fork is equipped with lower and upper attenuation bicameral system of fillings. Shock absorber damping set with the help of adjustable screws, next with the amount and density of the oil or it is possible to change the function of the fork change by replacing, the inner springs. Bleed the front fork after every ride with the help of screws in the upper plug. By use there is a pressure in the fork and the fork hardens. It is also important to change the oil according to the service interval, so that the shock absorber is not damaged.
Fastening of wires on the front and rear wheel
It is necessary to fasten the wires on a new wheel, but you must be careful not to use too much power. It could crack. If you extend the wires several times, they will not loosen again.
Adjusting of carburettor and good run of the engine is influenced by:
1. The weather
2. elevation
3. fuel
If the carburettor is well adjusted, the engine starts well and works well too, If you turn the screw to the right, the speed of the engine increases. It is possible to set richness of the mixture in the carburettor. In the bottom part of the cover there is a revealing screw. The quality of the fuel is important for the carburettor. We recommend to use 100 octane petrol of the highest quality.
After you removed the seat and left side cover, you can check the switching relay and the inside fuse which control the whole wiring.
Switching on the engine
Turn the cover of the fuel to the “ON” position Set the neutral Press the lever of the choke and the clutch Open the throttle grip of the gas and the pump supplies the fuel into the cylinder Start the engine with the closed handle of the gas When starting the engine, warm it to the operating temperature
Switching off the engine
Set the neutral Turn the cover of the fuel to the closed position “OFF” Open the throttle grip 3 times and then close it Turn off the button of the engine or the key of the switchbox
Changing of oil
Drain bad oil from the engine and gear area with the help of two screws
Take out oil filter carefully. Be careful not to damage the “o” ring and loss of the spring which is under the oil filter.
Depress the starting level several times to drain the oil from crank of the engine completely.
Fit new paper filter, screw drain plugs and be careful not to use adhesive for loosening of the drain plugs
The screw thread of the engine could be torn out in karter of the engine
Use semisynthetic motor oil 10W40 into the left part – 850 ml and 750 ml of oil into the right clutch part
Start the engine for 3 mins, than switch it off and check the dipsticks one more time
How to wash the motorbike
If you wash the motorbike with pressure washer, make sure that no water gets into the system of exhaust.
Secure the exhaust with a plug
Next dismount the seat and the tank
Wash everything carefully. You can use special solvents and shampoons
Let everything dry well. After drying use special mix and cosmetics.
Fit the tank, filter and seat again
Start the engine
Warm well and store in a dry and warm environment.
