Hello everyone
I'm Peggie
Today I want to share with you how to generate subtitles rapidly
Usually I have to do a lot of English videos translations
And it took a lot of time
First, to do a verbatim transcript
And then I'll translate that into Mandarin
And then I have to match every sentence on the time line
I was thinking that it is 21 century now
Is there any software
That can help me do something
And then I modify the details
And then I can save my time
So I found a way to do that
I can do this with three free software
And then I can dramatically shorten the time
So today I want to share with you what are the three software that's so useful
later
I'll tell you these sites
These are all free
I'll put those URLs in the information column below and you can click
The first one is the jianwai.netease.com
It's a website
It automatically listens to what you're saying
Both Chinese and English
If it's in English it can be translated in real time
But of course it does it a little bit weird
Or they don't fit the real life language
You can modifiy it on your own
But this is a mainland China website
So after that
It's comes out a simplified Chinese subtitle
I like to read traditional Chinese characters
I don't really understand simplified characters
So I need to convert that to traditional characters again
I'll use
The other site is called simplified and traditional Chinese translators
This is a website that
Transcript the SRT file just generate from netease into traditional Chinese subtitles
With this traditional Chinese subtitle
I'm going to use the Arctime Pro
This free software
And then put your SRT in your video
And of course
You can have other video editing softwares that are applicable
What if your software can't i import .SRT files ?
Use Arctime
This free software
So I'm going to show you that
How do I usually do (creating subtitles)
First we go to the jianwai.netease.com to register a new account
And then you have to put in your e-mail
And a personal password
And it will have a web certification
Enter your phone number
Once you've verified your phone, you need to verified your e-mail
Go to the mailbox you just filled in to get the certification letter.
Registration completed while you see this image
Back to netease
And then click on the new project in the upper right
Here you will see a couple of options
usually if it's a video
I'm going to use the first two, video translation or video transcript
If you need translation
Choose the first one
If you don't need a translation then choose the second one
If you don't have a video
Only the sound files
You can choose the other two down below
Here we enter our project name and upload the video
Choose the language that's going to be translated?
And then submit
After submission
It would shows that
It needs a little bit of process time
It's okay to leave the page
You can do other things
And come back later
After a moment
And you can see that this has been translated
And then you get into the video
You listen to a paragraph
And then you can type
Because of the video
It has a very complicated background music
It's rhythmic
So it doesn't verbatim very well
So I'm going to change a lot of this video
Usually if you have that kind of background music
It's going to verbatim well
And then we go line by line to verify
After that
You can save it
Click the upper right to export
There are three ways to download subtitles
Chinese subtitles
English subtitles
It could be
Chinese and English both and I usually save these three files
So you get the full subtitle file
It's a .SRT file
And then the file name will look like this and it will be stored automatically
And we have to convert to the traditional Chinese
So we upload this SRT file
To this simple and traditional Chinese translation website
The process will be very rapidly in the text file and it will look like this
Next, open your Arctime Pro
Get ready for your video and your subtitles
And then very rapidly
Just pull the video in
And then the subtitles
And hit continue
Hit confirm
That's it
The subtitle is automatically sent in
And they are arranged chronologically
Sometimes it's accidentally overlapping
Click on this one to autocorrect overlap
And then play
Check, this is a little bit too big
You can change the style of the characters
Choose anyone ( default value )
You can preview the style of the character here, I'll make it a little bit smaller
And then you can change the edge of the character
The color of the border or the width or the shadow of the character
You can do modify them here and then click apply
And you will find that it hasn't changed
(Select all) Right click on the subtitles
Go to the settings
And then choose the style that you just set
And then it will shows up
I want to go through each of these sections
To see if there's anything we need to modify
You can export this video
It is an MP4 file
And then you can export the subtitle again
You can pick both SRT and plain text, you can choose the last one
Both of them can export SRT file contains time line
There is no time line in plain text
So that's today's sharing of how to create a subtitle rapidly
If you have any questions
You can leave a comment below
And then we can talk about it
If you have any faster way to do subtitle
Please leave a message

That's it
