Hey guys this is Lee with clean simple portraits. I appreciate you watching here. I want to
go over a camera that I photographed a particular session with. It is a really cool little camera
it is a Yashica lynx 5000. It's a rangefinder camera, a 35mm and it's around 50 years old.
you can purchase this camera actually new, believe it or not, from a fellow over in Atlanta
Georgia and he actually worked in the yashica plant in Japan and when the plant closed down,
they just gave him all these parts. so he can build you a new camera. A lot of the Mirrorless
cameras you're saying today are based off of this type of camera. It's a 1.8 on that
lens there and it was kind of fun since it's a rangefinder, cause you know, you have to
learn what you're seeing if you find because what you see is not exactly what you get.
this one has a good sturdy construction to it and you can also zone focus on this so
I forgot my children of the beach and As long they were in within about eight foot range
of me,they were heavy and sharp focus I wasn't having to focus at all.. I just metered and
I was ready to go was very cool anyways enough of that this is an image of a man with this
camera and what I wanted to do on this and just give a good idea of image of this man
and to his right is a big window in that provided the main light here and you can see the set
up right here is the mainline I also added a little saltbox just have just a little bit
alight. To the side of his face because it was it was so fall off a little too much going
to over here and I just popped a little light in there so old-school photographers meter
to time and big meter the celebration here and here yada yada I'm meter to the window
and I metered you somewhere in your meter to the window and then I could just see you
because it was daylight I could see where the light was falling off over here so I know
when the badges little bit more light in there so I to be a soft box in your meter reading
over here and basically made it about a stop less so that it would just fill them and not
I didn't want to be an equal amount because otherwise it would've you know made them fight
each other if you will so I just wanted to let in and was happy with the image came away
with. other thing on the This this was on a tripod camera was I obviously was hooked
up to talk to wizard so that the flash fire but it's on a tripod and you have to learn
with this type of camera what you what you're actually getting and your viewfinder so I
was rotating a little bit here and there and I bracketed a lot for those of you don't know
bracketing is just when you go up and down your exposures issue 36 thank you 36 frames
there you got plenty of leeway to go up and down and you never know you'll you might like
one looks darker brighter than what you're expecting so bracket have fun with it and
I definitely recommend shooting with the still camera and see what you come up with anyways
I hope those helpful getting questions leaving comments leave them feel like it and appreciate
it and if you like this any other videos if you want to subscribe appreciate it thanks
bunch guys!
