This is a very nice DIY project. Do a candy dispenser with a plastic cup, cardstock and sweets of various colors, we'll call it "Candy Shake"
Material:
cardboard or thick cardstock, pieces of cardstock of many colors to decorate, thick cardboard it can be whatever you want
table and cutter, ruler, permanent markers, an object with rounded edge to mark the fold, you can use something like this or even a pen without ink
scissors, glue stick or double sided tape, pencil, eraser, cold silicone, perforators
a small glass, cover, straw and sweets of various colors and shapes
Let's start with the cardstock, make a piece of 29 x 22 cm
I´ll trace with white pencil to apreciate better
make lines at the top and bottom edge at 1, 8, 15 and 22 cm
First make the marks
then join them
now make marks on the right and left side at 2, 9, 14 and 21 cm
it´s really important to start from bottom to top
you´ll have a grid like this
draw with the pencil tabs here
and here
I will scratch the rest, this is the leftover we will remove
make tabs also in this 3 sides of the squares
I recomend you to download the measure guide to make it easier this procedure
I´m going to scratch the rest
taking this line as a guide, make marks at 3 cm on each side
Join them with a line and scratch the rest
make a tab here
make lines at 2 cm on this rectangles
and scratch the rest
in the new lines, make marks at 1 cm
And with the ruler, draws a line from this side to the edge
the piece should look like this
cut the scratched area
don´t throw the leftovers, you can save them for the next projects
with the ruler and marker, trace a square of 1.5 x 1.5 cm at the center of the glass
it does´t have to be right in the center
the important is that the size of the square is big enough to let the sweets pass through there
cut with the cutter, be careful while cutting
try not to press too hard or make uneven cuts, you can use the ruler to help you
Take the base, put the glass over this square in the center
is important to put it as well centered as possible
mark the outline of the cut with the cutter
then cut it from the cardstock
Verify that the square on the card stock is like the square of the glass
if it´s smaller, the sweets can´t pass through there
fold every line of the figure, to make it easier pass an object with rounded edge on each line
you can use something like this or even a butter scoop
you´ll see it´s easier to fold
lets assemble the piece
Put glue on this 2 tabs
glue them over here
put glue here and glue this tabs inward
you can also use double sided tape
glue this part this way
you should have this
to finish, insert this tabs inside the figure
verify it works, it should open and close a little
glue the glass over the figure
before gluing, make sure that the square of the glass match with the square of the box
use cold silicone
leave the figure dry
while take a piece or paper or cardstock to make a rectangle of 25 x 2 cm
decorate with stamps, messages or figures of your perforator
glue it in the glass
make a square of 9 x 9 cm in the thick cardboard of your preference
decorate it as you prefer
I´ll use deco paper
and round the edges
glue the box in the center
insert the sweets in the glass, they will fall slowly into the box
push this inward to hold the sweets
I recommend you to fill the glass halfway
maybe the card stock can not handle the weight
put the cover, insert the straw and you finished.!!
now you have a nice detail, how would you use it? as decoration or gift
