The Social Care Association exists to support social care workers, in this case, home care workers
to practice to the best of their ability. That’s been our primary objective
since we first existed, and anything that enhances the quality of service to people
using home care services, anything that gives them better access, anything that improves
any aspect of that care, must be of interest to us, and in brief terms, that’s why we became involved.
We would do anything to support the promotion of good practice.
Well the EHRC or any research project is improved by the volume and number of contributors.
We believe that there’s a vast number of people and agencies who are supporting people
who are paying for their own care, and I would recommend to people that they share
their experiences, take part in any survey, so that the outcome is strong and robust and
cannot be argued with by anybody who wants to cast doubt on it. But also will serve to get an
improvement in the way they receive information and more importantly the way they access
the services they are going to use, and that must be the desired outcome I’m sure.
