An Easy Tutorial for Double Crochet

Hello this is Kori with SymplTreasures. Today I will teach you how to make a double crochet Stitch. We will start by making a slip knot. Wrap the yarn around your fingers making a circle. Pull yarn through the circle. Now you have a slip knot. To tighten, pull the end of the yarn. Place your crochet hook into the loop and pull the end of the yarn to tighten loop onto the hook. Now we need to make our base. The base to all work is called a Chain. To make a chain you will pull your yarn over your hook. This is called a Yarn Over. Yarn Over and pull through the loop making your first chain. We will make twenty chains for this practice. Two, three, four, five, six, seven ,eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty. If you loose track of your count you can coaunt each chain by counting the V's. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven ,eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty. Now, that you have a chain we can begin our double crochet. Yarn Over your hook then stick your hook into the fourth chain away from your hook. Yarn over, pull through loop. Now you have three loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through two of the loops on your hook. Yarn over again and pull through the remaining two loops. Then we repeat steps working into the next available chain from your hook, to the end. Now, that we are at the end. The chain three allows us to match the height of our double crochet and make our next row. This keeps our total project even. Once you have made your three chains, you will turn your work adn begin making your next row of double crochet. Yarn over work into second chain from the hook. Yarn over and pull through loop. Now you have three loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops. Yarn over and pull through reaming two loops. Now, continue until the end of the row. I hope our tutorials help you learn.
