Hi my name is John Field, I am owner, operator and Father of We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym
in Boca Raton. We're geared for children on the spectrum, but a lot of the children out
there that you find have brothers and sisters who are so close in age that aren't on the
spectrum. We've made a place where they can both come
and have fun. The gym itself is a sensory oriented gym along
with a lot of therapeutic equipment but it's also set up in a way that makes it fun for
everyone. A lot of the children that come in here don't realize that they are playing
and having a blast playing on therapeutic equipment. In which is great because they
are not only getting their motor skills and everything tuned, they are having a blast
while doing it. I myself five years ago was blessed with a
child that ended up diagnosed of autism but I did the gym because we found it harder and
harder to take him anywhere. I know there's Chuckee Cheese and Monkey Joes
and the Wow Factory and all these places out there but for children like mine, too many
blinking lights, too loud of sounds, the place is way to big and a lot of times way too crowded,
sensory overload. He would go there and start to run around to where, you would want him,
I would want him to be having fun but he was just too overloaded with you know, too much
stimulation going on, for him to actually stop and focus and have fun with something.
And we found it almost impossible to take him anywhere. Then we felt that we had to
do something. We had to step up. What I'm trying to accomplish is a good, safe,
and comfortable environment for the children themselves and the parents of these children.
Being a parent of a child with ASD myself, I want my child to be happy.I want him to
be able to enjoy what other children enjoy. You know, they have their parks and all these
other places they can go, you know and when you have a child like that you find yourself
trying to keep them at home a lot because socially out in public it gets a little hard.
My goal is for all those parents out there that feel that way that "there's no place
for my kid" that "my kid's the one that's different", is to let them know that there
is a place. There is a place they can go where that they aren't the only ones there going
through this. There are other people also. To support the gym, please watch our channel,
watch our videos. If you see or know somebody maybe it's somebody at work, maybe it's a
neighbor, maybe it's a cousin, and they don't know about us yet please just spread the word.
Tell them to subscribe to our channel and watch the videos and swing by and visit the
gym. Thank you for taking the time and watching
our video. Please if you know someone who lives with ASD in their home and these people
feel there is no place for their child, tell them to watch this video, subscribe to our
channel, please visit the gym and they'll see there is a place for their child. There
is a place for them. Thank you for watching.
