I know I feel blessed that we've had Fran here for the last three years.
And what's been
very rewarding for me as an educator is to see our conference
continue to grow
and also to see a lot of people come back year after year
because they feel like the
things that we discussed it in this leadership conference they
actually saw their students take it back into their programs and
implement some of the strategies and it actually made their organization better.
One of the reasons why we do this is to expose our students in our state and
in our programs the power of leadership and how that can impact
our organization's ability to succeed
and essentially give them a better idea of what leadership is. Most
students walk in the door and they feel like if you're in a leadership position
that it's a position that you're telling people what to do
and it's more of a dictatorial type position. Whereas
I think when they leave this particular conference, or they leave
Fran's session, they understand that leadership is truly about service and
how to serve others and how you can make the people around you better.
I think as a director how this will help you
is essentially you're not going to have to do everything yourself.
They're being taught in the workshop how to build a team,
and then how they can fit into that part,
that teamwork, and that effort, and to make the organization better.
