hi! recently a viewer wrote in to me asking if I would create a video on how
to create a positive state of mind or a positive state of being and I think
that's a really excellent question so I wanted to address it here. now the first
thing that I have to say about how to create a positive state of mind is that
there's many ways for it to be done- I will share with you a few introductory
things that I personally used that got me moving in the right direction, and
another thing to understand is that everybody comes to this information at a
different place. some people are naturally in a very positive state when
they find this information some people are not. like me,
hopefully you're wherever you are you're in a better state than I was when I came
to this information, because when I came to this information I was at a
particularly low place. I had a number of issues. I was an addict,
I had an eating disorder, I had been diagnosed with a mental health condition
a personality disorder called borderline personality disorder.
what else. I had a estrangements with family members, I had a whole bunch of
crap that I was dealing with at the time that was a result of my state of being,
and I'm going to be honest with you- creating a state of mind for some people
is going to take time, it's going to take longer time than it being immediate
because fortunately today all of those issues in my life are gone, but it took
time for those things to fall out of my life and for new better things to fall
into my life. so one thing that I have to say about creating a positive state of
mind is that it's an ongoing journey. you're an infinite individual and so you
have infinite capacity to become more positive if that's the track that you
want to go along. so as you move along through life you're going to probably
have the feeling that it's like peeling back layers of an onion. so you're going
to become increasingly more positive but you're going to continue to encounter
limitations for you to break through. so please hear this from me that this is
kind of a lifestyle, it's a way of traveling and thanks
to the law of attraction if you get on a positive momentum you're going to find
yourself becoming increasingly more and more positive. it will become easier for
you to shed limitations, but there's no ending point. this is something that
continues to evolve and gets better over time. so first things, first please make
sure that you're patient with yourself and understand that it's all about
gaining momentum. it's not about becoming an immediately 100%
positive person overnight. it's a journey. all right now with that being said I
want to share with you some of the things that I started out with early on
that I believe got me on a trajectory that really helped. if you haven't yet
started trying meditation I highly recommend it. just 15 minutes of
meditation a day- that does wonders for slowing down a lot of the negative
thoughts and emotions that are cycling through your mind.
it's my personal recommendation that the earlier in the day the better for
meditation, because if you start your day off in a really calm way, the law of
attraction will gravitate towards you more positive things to take you through
the rest of your day. so morning meditation usually packs more of a punch
than evening meditation if you can do it. another early thing that I
started with was yoga, and again it depends on it that's your interest or
not, and yoga is something I've gone in and out with but that was something I
started with early. that's also a great thing for getting yourself centered
learning how to breathe. that can be very helpful as well. now another suggestion
that was very big for me was to be very mindful of the kind of programming
that you're watching and that you're listening to. a lot of the things that we
see on television or at the movies or that we listen to on the radio pack a
lot of negative limiting kind of beliefs and ideas, and when we surround ourselves
with that kind of information it becomes ingrained and embedded within us. so it
can be very huge for you to start to watch what kind of things that you're
you're observing that you're listening to. so be mindful of the kind of stations
that you're listening to or watching. try to pick programming that has
positive messages or elicits positive feelings from you.
and then my final quick suggestion for you is a big one, but it's
a very simple one that a lot of people overlook and that's just to attend to
your needs. a lot of times people are in the habit of putting themselves last and
so they engage in a lot of behaviors that are not particularly self-care
oriented and so when we do this what we're really doing is we're engaging in
a form of self-abuse. so if you're not eating when you need to eat or when
you're not sleeping when you're tired, that's a way of kind of sending out a
message to the universe that you don't love yourself you don't care about
yourself. so if you want to get on a positive track it can be very huge to
start to become a little bit more selfish. understanding that when you take
care of yourself you're loving yourself, which allows you to feel better, which in
turn allows you to be a better service to other people. so please make sure that
you're eating when you're hungry, you're sleeping when you're tired, you're
drinking when you're thirsty, you're taking breaks when you need to.
so those handful of suggestions really got me on a positive trajectory. just get
started with those few things and see where it takes you. you'll fin d more ways
to keep yourself positive, and you'll find more ways to reach higher and
higher levels that you're hoping to access when it comes to creating a
positive state of mind.
