So with the third entry in the Captain America series hitting cinemas soon, I thought I’d
go over a couple of things I think we’ll see in this new installment. We now unfortunately
live in a time where spoilers and movie secrets are all over the internet before the film’s
release, but I’d just like to say I haven’t looked at any of those leaks. These are my
own predictions based on trailers, the comics this movie is based on, and some news leaks
that were just impossible to avoid. Potential spoiler alert, but again, these are just my
predictions. First up, the plot of the film. Now these
events could happen in a couple of different orders, but this is how I’ve placed them.
After the whole Ultron thing went down in Sokovia, a list of guidelines and registrations
for superheroes is introduced, called “The Sokovia Accords.” Tony Stark is totally
behind this, since Ultron was pretty much entirely his fault. Steve Rogers is completely
against it. There, that’s the basis for this whole conflict.
The government also really wants to capture Bucky/The Winter Soldier after everything
he did in the events of Cap 2, but at the same time, Cap and Falcon also really want
to find him. They get to Bucky first with the military, Black Panther, and Brock Rumlow
right behind them. Rumlow, after being severely damaged in the Winter Soldier, has now been
transformed into Crossbones, and works with the government. Cap and Bucky escape while
Falcon uses other means to get away. Black Panther then chases Cap and Bucky through
this tunnel into a trap, where they’re captured. While Cap just has his stuff taken away and
has a quick sit down with Tony about limitations, I think Bucky is put into some kind of weird
prison. Cap ends up freeing him and they go on the run. In this time, he recruits Falcon
to work on their side. Now after all of this has gone down, Bucky
is pretty upset with Tony and plans to assassinate him. They have a quick fight but Tony escapes
and gets in his armor. Bucky goes back to Cap and Tony finds them. There’s a bit of
a confrontation there, but nothing really major happens.
The teams are then formed, which I’ll get into in a sec, and there’s a pretty big
fight at this airport, which somehow ends with the entire place blowing up. Bucky then
rips Rhodey’s arc reactor out, severely damaging him, and Tony gets really mad about
this. Then, at the end of the movie, Bucky and Cap
go two on one against Tony. I’d just like to say that this could be right after the
little scuffle they have that I mentioned earlier. Tony is losing the fight badly and
so out of desperation he accidentally kills Cap, thus leading an enraged Bucky to try
and kill him. Tony escapes and retires, maybe handing his armor off to Rhodey, and either
Bucky or Falcon take on the Captain America mantle. Probably Bucky, just because they’re
really building up their friendship here and it’s been foreshadowed a few times.
There. That’s what I think the plot will be. Now as far as the characters, there’s
some more stuff to get into. There are two ways I think Black Panther gets
involved in this. One, we see this U.N. looking place getting blown up, and that could be
how the entire country of Wakanda gets involved. Or two, he’s mad that the Hulk and Iron
Man basically trashed his home country with that massive fight. I think he’ll initially
side with Tony, as he thinks that heroes should have limitations so what happened in Wakanda
doesn’t happen again, but he tries to stay as neutral as possible.
I also think Black Widow will start out on Iron Man’s team, but will double cross him
and go with Cap. She just seems to have a much friendlier relationship with him than
she does with Tony. Martin Freeman’s character, who we have
yet to really get to see, I think he’ll be a government official in the middle of
all of this trying to get the two sides to stop fighting.
Ant-Man has gotten a clear costume re-design since we last saw him, and he will apparently
go giant in this movie, as this funko pop figure suggests.
Vision will be incapacitated in some way or just won’t want to fight, because if he
actually does fight it, this fight becomes a lot less fair.
And Spider-Man, I don’t even know. Just based on the comic I’m guessing he’ll
go to Iron Man’s side first but eventually be convinced to join Cap. I’m guessing we’ll
only see a tiny bit of him in this movie, and he might not even fight at all. Maybe
a bit of a Luke Skywalker in the Force Awakens type thing. Hopefully we’ll see a little
bit more than that though. So those were the things I think will unfold
in Civil War. What do you think will happen. Be sure to let me know down below in the comments.
