Hi my name is Jess Graham and here in Tampa, Florida on behalf of Expert Village. This
is how to replace and maintain your air filter in a motorcycle. This particular filter I
got from a 2007 in Yamaha R1. It's reusable. It's not a Stock filter. It's an after market
filter. In the filter you want to inspect the seams of the filter. Make sure it has
a flush mounting surface. You want to inspect the amount of dirt that is on the filter.
This filter is relatively clean with a little bit of dirt on the edges. You'll want to clean
that. If you have a paper filter, you will want to dispose of the paper filter and get
a new paper filter or maybe any of the after market choices. You want to make sure there
is no dirt along the edges of the filter. Most air filters, unless it's any after market
reusable air filter, will require oiling and then some cleaning. Before you go ahead and
reinsert the air filter, you'll want to oil it with the proper air filter oil and possibly
clean it if it's dirty.
