Some old Glee favorites return, Katey Sagal goes from bad-*** biker mom to Artie's mom,
and not one but TWO Glee engagements! I'm Alex and if you haven't seen last night's
Glee episode, "Wonder-ful," this is your official spoiler alert.
Glee club starts and Schue drops a shower of bombshells on us. Brittany SERIOUSLY got
accepted into MIT? Will is re-engaged to Emma? Out of nowhere?!! Per usual, the Glee world
is a confusing yet Wonder-ful place... so let's make it Stevie Wonder week! Again, kind
of a stretch there with your lesson themes, Schue... but let's face it - you don't REALLY
need an excuse to celebrate the musical stylings of Stevie Wonder, so I'll let this one go.
Oh hay! It's Mercedes and Mike Chang! And they're not just here to visit. They're ready
to whip some New Directions butt into shape in time for Regionals. One thing's for sure
- Mercedes is NOT afraid to call the newbies out on their crap. Hmm.. but was it really
fear that made them lose at Sectionals? I'm not sure I'd use that word, exactly. Hunger,
maybe? Lack of eating? Ugly costumes? Gangnam style?!?!
Funny Girl callbacks just got even more intense. It's Rachel Berry vs. Broadway legend Sutton
Foster vs. Mamie Gummer, freshly scorned from her Emily Owens, MD cancellation, I'm sure.
That's some fierce competition, but now I'm even more convinced that Rachel's got this
in the bag. I mean, even Cassandra July is on her side! I don't know about y'all, but
I was convinced that her surprise "midterm" celebration was going to end up being some
sort of sick joke or trap. But who knew - good ol' Cassie really does have a soft side!
Good news. Burt Hummel is officially in remission...Phew! Thank god, because someone needed to convince
Blaine NOT to propose to Kurt. I mean, COME ON! Another high school engagement? Don't
get me wrong -- I am ALL FOR a Klaine reunion... Klaine fo lyfe. But what's up with these Glee
kids thinking they need to get married?! EVERYBODY JUST NEEDS TO CHILL OUT, OKAY
All in all, this Stevie Wonder tribute was decent, but definitely could have benefitted
from a little more soul from Unique, not to mention some of Brittany's dance moves. Do
you think Glee did Stevie Wonder proud? Are the New Directions ready for Regionals? Let
me know what you're looking forward to in the big season 4 finale, and check back with
me next week to talk more Glee!
