In this lesson, I want to teach you how to hire a trading coach or how to pick the right trading course for you Listen, I'm a trading coach and I teach traders how to trade the stock market. But I might not be the right coach for you. You might not be the right student for me. So if we're not contracted to work together, we just can't love each other and we can't work together, I will teach you how to pick the right coach or how to pick the right trading course. You want to make sure that you watch this video lesson. Today's question is about trading education. So the question is from John and John asks can you recommend a mentor, coach or trading course? John realizes the importance of education He is on the right path. John, I got to congratulate you. for being on the right path. So here's what I can say. I love my courses! and I love my coaching programs and I'm the best coach but here's the thing The truth is, I am not for everybody. Not everybody can get into my coaching programs I actually interview people before they come into my coaching program. The energy is more important to me than just coaching anyone. So I want to give you some elements to look for when you're hiring a coach. But if I'm not the right coach, I want you to find the right coach for you Here are questions you should ask yourself before hiring a coach: 1. What stage of my education am I in? Beginner, intermediate or Advanced? 2. How much money am I willing to invest in my education? Let's say you're an advanced trader or an intermediate trader. You've done your education and now you want to hire a trading coach. How much money are you willing to invest in your education? If a trading coach is charging $100/hour it means there's something wrong.It may mean they're not making money as traders The potential to earn so much money in the long run is huge. The potential to earn so much money in the long run is huge. Let's say you have a $10,000 and over the next year, you have make 50% of that that's $5,000, right? Your account is growing and you keep making more money Look at your earning potential Look at how much the coach charges. If a coach is charging you $100/hour I'd be a little suspicious. It means that coach is really not making money as a trader I'd be a little suspicious. It means that coach is really not making money as a trader They're possibly just coaching. I believe you can be a great coach without trading I believe you can be a great coach without trading but I have a hard time believing that you can actually know what a trader goes through if you are not trading. If a coach charges $10,000 to coach then you're looking at sort out the right especially if they coaching you one-on-one or you know five hundred dollars an hour they know what they're doing This is because a coach who's successful in their own right would rather trade than coach or teach They are also valuing their time or evaluating how much their time is worth If they are not coaching you, they are trading They're making their own money. They coach because they love to share their knowledge; they love to teach. they love to teach. Trading education is not cheap. If it's cheap, usually there's going to be little holes in there. It's not going to be as effective because a lot of successful traders know the earning potential of a good trader so they're not willing to coach for $50/hour or $100/hour 3. How much time do I have in a given week to dedicate to trading? Let's say you decided to coach with someone you decide to coach every week with that person. Beside the hour of coaching, they're going to require you to do homework. A good coach is going to require you to do homework A good coach is going to require require you to take screenshots of your trades and hand in your trading blog If a coach is not asking for that or your coach is not asking you to put in 3 hours for coaching, I'm not sure how good of a coach that is But you know this is just my perspective It might not be for everyone. A good coach will keep you accountable to your trading goals If you say I am not trading on Fridays or I am only going to trade high probability trades and then as part of your homework for that week you're supposed to hand in your trading blog and your coach is going to assess your trading blog and tell you what you're doing wrong or doing right. trading blog and your coach is going to assess your trading blog and tell you what you're doing wrong or doing right. If you don't have accountability as a beginner or as an intermediate trader, you run wild and become a gambler. When you're having a losing streak, you don't know how to get out of that losing streak because we cannot give ourselves a professional haircut. because I can't see my blind spots or my back. That's what a good coach does for you. 2. A trading coach will see your blind spots and help eliminate them A good coach will help you spot it and yes, sometimes it's going to be tough love Sometimes you would ask yourself why you're paying this person to abuse you. . You've committed to a goal as a trader and that coach's job is to hold you to that goal. 3. A trading mentor will help you expand your potential as a trader When you are going through those valleys and you're having losing weeks and it seems like you can't get out of that rot , a good trading mentor will tell you about your potentials. Remember that 95% of trading is mindset. So you need your coach to tell you to get your act together. How Can Mentors And Coaches Help Beginner Traders Why coaches rock? 1. Learn how to trade the right way from the get-go There is nothing worse than unlearning bad trading ways and gambling tendencies. There's nothing worse than this The people I interview who come to my trading program who have taken education and are losing traders. I tell them that I can't deal with that because it's just too much for me to try try and help them unlearn If you're a beginner, it's better to start off the right way. 2. Help you get to your goals faster (they will give you the short cuts) If you do it on your own, you can still do it but it may take you 5 years. You might get despondent and quit in the process. In business I seek people who have walked the road that I want and follow them. Even when I started off as a beginner trader, I sought one mentor. I followed him and listened to everything he says Sometimes I would wake up at 4AM because he was hosting coaching calls or lectures I would get up at 3AM with tea my eyes are droopy, just to hear his words. I didn't worship him but I knew that he had the shortcuts and I was not willing to take the long road to successful trading What if you don't hire a coach? It's just going to take a little longer. 1. It's just going to take a little longer. Be patient with yourself. just know that your journey is going to be longer. 2. If you do sign up for trading education, pick a course for your knowledge level such as beginner, intermediate or advanced. There was one time when I was in a very advanced course and there was a beginner in the course and he just asked what a short is. He was in a class that was way advanced for him and I felt so bad for him. He was in a class that was way advanced for him and I felt so bad for him. It was really sad because he probably didn't understand a lot of the things that were taught in that course There's nothing wrong with being a beginner and it's very empowering to say look I don't know I'm going to sign up for a beginner level course. then you can build from there. 3. Practice practice, practice your skill. Surround yourself with other traders A genius is created through practice. If you don't practice, you'll never be a genius trader It's just that simple. You've got to demo practice and surround yourself with other traders at your level. We all want to become advanced traders but it's going to be harder and more frustrating for you. It's so powerful when you can surround yourself with other traders who are learning the same information as you are.
