Hi, this is Lenard Swain and I’m here to show you the Alienware™ M17x. What I consider the next step in gaming evolution. This is Alienware’s most powerful laptop ever built under 10 pounds and it’s the only one to offer an optional 120Hz 1080p LCD for a completely immersive, stereoscopic-3D gaming experience. With that display, you don’t just watch the action you’re right in the middle of it. To give you an idea of the M17x’s testament to immersion and performance we’ve designed the system to handle some of the most powerful GPUs available. No matter what game titles you choose you’ll be able to play games at 1080p resolutions and graphics settings set to high by choosing one of our 100W discrete graphics options. All of the graphics options on the Alienware™ M17x also utilize the most advanced graphics memory available – GDDR5. And to ensure the soundscape is every bit as immersive and impressive as the visuals the M17x is available with THX 3D Surround featuring Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di High-Definition audio with THX TruStudio Pro Software. If you seek the absolute best performance overall the M17x offers processor options that include 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7 quad core CPUs. Fully loaded, you can get up to 32GB of DDR3 RAM. This new generation of Alienware notebooks also introduces mSATA solid state drives for caching, dual hard drive options or even RAID configurations for large storage capacities or data security. You can also choose an mSATA SSD configuration with the mSATA drive dedicated to booting up. If you want the ultimate in storage performance, there are also options including SSDs. On the outside, the Alienware M17x offers a soft-touch finish in Nebula Red or Stealth Black. It features a variety of ports for ultimate connectivity, including USB 3.0, display port, HDMI, VGA, and eSATA/USB Combo. With the Alienware PowerShare feature, you can charge your connected peripherals even when the system is powered down. There’s also an HDMI-In that allows you to hook up various HD sources like a Blu-ray player or a gaming console, such as a Wii, PlayStation 3, or XBOX 360. This allows you to use the M17x laptop as a screen and the speakers, which are powered by Klipsch, as your sound output. We’ve also installed a 2MP webcam with dual digital microphones, gigabit Ethernet for incredibly fast internet and networking and a battery-meter underneath the system. The bottom of the unit even comes with an Alienware™ nameplate that you can have custom etched when ordering online. Finally, you’ll notice our sleek keyboard and the nine lighting zones that make up the AlienFX™ System Lighting experience. Via our Alienware™ Command Center software you have access to a variety of themes so you can personalize as much as you like and make your system come alive. You can even set up your lighting themes to trigger during certain system events like when you get an email, you can have your keyboard blink yellow, for example. In our latest Alienware™ Command Center we’ve introduced AlienAdrenaline™. This module lets you create shortcuts that activate profiles you’ve defined to start your own personalized experiences for each of your games. For example, when loading your favorite title you can opt to load your favorite AlienFX™ theme, open specific applications, weblinks, and even load your favorite VOIP or in-game monitoring programs. With AlienTouch™ you can configure the sensitivity of your touch pad, tap and drag options or enable features that provide you with virtual scrolling capabilities as well. You can even set it up to disable your touch pad when a USB mouse is connected. Also within our Alienware Command Center you can find AlienFusion, a handy management module to let you configure your settings to maximize performance, efficiency and extend the already excellent battery life, even when playing.
