Ready for the best makeup ever? Ha-ha, It's just winning. Today I'm going to show you
how to do this kind of retro Barbie doll inspired makeup. This look will make your eyes pop
and your face shine in a very youthful innocent way. It is perfect for Valentine's or any
other day when you just want your makeup to look romantic, happy and fun.
Ok then, let's get started with the tutorial. I've already done my foundation using 123
perfect from Bourjois and the Sigma foundation brush. Under the eyes, I've applied my trustee
MAC studio finish concealer with this fluffy brush. And I also primed my eyelids with the
primer potion. Take a light grey eyeshadow like this and
start outlining the shape of your crease. This is like sketching your drawing with a
pencil. You want to start with a very light color and build it gradually. Then go with
a darker greyish color and make the crease line deeper. Next blend the shadow with a
fluffy brush to make it softer until it looks something like this. After that take an even
darker color, mine is black, and with a small angled brush make a thin line in the crease
to make it even more defined. Now it's time to put some color on the lids!
When using bright pastel eyeshadows, you need to apply a white base under, in my case the
Nyx jumbo pencil. I like to first apply it directly and then work it with a flat synthetic
brush. You can also just load the base to the brush - this will give you more control
to apply the base precisely up to the crease line.
Here I'm just bringing my crease line further into the inner corner with the light greyish
color. The white base will help to make the eyeshadow more vibrant and bright. Just some
final touches to make sure the crease lines are even, and now we can proceed to the fun
part, applying the color! I'm using this pink L'oreal infallible eyeshadow. I am first taping
on some color with the flat stiff brush, but for a higher pigmentation I'm going over
with this a sponge applicator as well. I am applying the color almost up to the crease
line, leaving a very thin stripe of white in between. This will give an illusion of
bigger contrast between the crease and the lid.
Time for the eyeliner! I am using the Maybeline black gel liner to create a very sharp thin
winged line. I'm just applying it with the brush that comes with it. I think it's actually
a very good one; it's quite dense which allows you to create thin or thick lines.
Here I am just applying some white color between the wing of the liner and the crease line.
Now highlight the brow bone. Again I'm using the Nyx jumbo pencil for the base, blend it
with a brush and top it with a shimmery champagne color.
Next, I am taking a darker violet color from this cute Mac quad and with a smaller fluffy
brush blend right above the crease line. This will give a warm romantic depth to the eyes.
Here I am just correcting the white above the eyeliner a bit. And this is how your eyes
should look so far. Then highlight the inner corners of your eyes
with a white base and eyeshadow. Also, apply the white base all along your lower lash line
and on top I'm going on with this pretty turquoise eyeshadow from L'oreal. This is an essential
step if you want your eyes to pop and look super fresh and playful. To make the eyes
flirty add a bit of black eyeshadow on the outer half of the eye, staying as close to
the lower lash line as possible. Line your waterline with the white eyeliner.
See how the pastel colors make your eyes look young, fresh and innocent, while the darker
colors give this warm romantic depth. This combination makes for a perfect Valentine
's Day look! Times to make sure our eyelashes are perky and flirty. Curl them first of course
and then apply your favorite mascara. I love this new rocket one from Maybelline. And the
brush is like "BAM", the biggest ever. Apply too generous coats to make your eyelashes
super long, and don't forget the bottom lashes. They deserve some love on the Valentine's
Day right. And that makes our cute Barbie eyes done.
Now onto the skin... First powder your face lightly to set the makeup. Then apply a light
peachy pink blush - I'm using welldressed by MAC, which is one of my all-time favorites.
I'm also using bronzer to add some warmth to my face and to contour the cheekbones.
Ok, I'm guilty. I know people say don't go pink on the eyes and lips at the same time.
But sometimes we girls just have to do it right. It's a Barbie look after all. And I'm
going all out with the pink lip gloss as well. It's so tiny and cute!
Finally, this is our Barbie doll look complete. I really like how it turned out. Even though
we used bright and fun colors it's still wearable and romantic. I Hope you try this funky makeup
yourself and thanks for watching!
