In this summer makeup tutorial I'll show you how to achieve a mermaid inspired look. Ready?
I had so much fun playing with bright blue colors and sharp black lines! First of all
it's important to define your eyebrows. Especially with bold eye makeup, defined brows really
make a difference to your overall look. Prime your eyelids to keep the eyeshadows
in place. Now start drawing a line in the crease using a light grey color just to get
you started. Quickly blend away with a small blending brush. Make it a bit sharper by adding
some black eyeshadow with a flat brush, concentrating on the outer part of the line. When blending,
focus on the upper edge of the shadow, you want the lower edge to be as sharp as possible.
Now to the fun part -- I am taking a bright turquoise cream shadow and applying it on
my lids, staying under the crease line. I am first using fingers to apply the color
and then buff it in with a flat synthetic brush. Set the color with a bright aqua blue
eyeshadow. Don't swipe the color back and forth, just gently pat it on with a flat synthetic
brush for a higher pigmentation.
To add more depth in the crease, I am blending some dark violet color above the crease line.
Then just blend the upper edge with a clean blending brush. This will give you smokier
and more romantic look. Highlight the inner corners of your eyes and
then apply some blue eyeshadow on top. Now it's time for a winged black liner. I am using
a gel one as it is the most pigmented and long-lasting. First make a very bold winged
line. Apply a turquoise eyeliner on the waterline
for a true turquoise overload. Here I am drawing a black line from my inner
corners as close to the lower lashline as possible. This is where the look starts getting
more creative and different. Draw a reversed winged line connecting to your lower lashline,
and set it with some black shadow. Now draw another line, parallel with the upper
winged liner. Make it a little bit longer. You will be getting a shape of a fish tale.
The last line should be parallel with the bottom winged liner.
Between the lines of the fish tale I am applying a bit of white and then some turquoise color
on top. I really like this color for summer makeup looks. What is your favorite color
for this time of the year? Just like the water drops sparkle in the sun,
I am adding some glitter on the lids. Some mascara and false lashes if you want, and
that's it for the eyes. I am keeping the rest of the face very neutral
as the eyes are so bold. Just apply some soft peachy blush on the cheeks and a similar colored
lipstick to complete this ocean inspired look. By the sea or not... I hope you're having
an amazing summer. Thanks for watching!
