Pokemon Ruby - Episode 22 - Wally's backstory theory

So when that turns red, that's a move you definitely want to try and go for. So, yeah, the appeal combo went over well, so that's a combo, so we actually did quite well there and we lowered the applause, but we didn't lose any actual points, so... pretty good I would say, pretty good there, I think that was a good move, the appeal tried to unnerve waiting Pokemon, but not use, which is useful, both of them were unaffected however. Alright, so. Gulin's cuteness went over great. Zutsu is going to use confuse ray and scramble up the order for the next turn, which is quite useful to me as I am first, so I'll be first so I'll be first through the whole thing, and as such tail whip isn't going to do anything unfortunately for us. It worked as much as the Pokemon before it. So that is pretty much gonna copy the top person's move, add one, and then add another one because of the cuteness, so Zigoon has now rushed into third place Gulin is still above it just about. We are still first, and this is brilliant because we can now use tail whip but we might get nervous though so could be tricky but we're gonna go with tail whip anyway. Mean Look, that's gonna make the waiting Pokemon nervous, come on Reservoir, don't trip up. Unaffected, unaffected, unaffected, alright, whew that was lucky, if Gulin uses Yawn we could be in trouble but hopefully it doesn't. Zigoon appealed with Rest, so now it becomes oblivious to anyone that tries to startle it, the Judge looked at Zigoon expectantly and zigoons cuteness got the croud going! So unfortunately, we won't be able to get the crowd going this time around, and Zigoon is really pulling it out lately. sludge tried to startle the other Pokemon, Zigoon managed to avert it's gaze, the Judge looked at Gulin expectantly, and Gulin's toughness didn't go over well. Now it's us, and we're gonna net ourselves some nice points with Tail Whip, the largely unnoticed Resevoir worked hard yep that's quite good for our last turn I would say we did quite good all thoughout, we were quite consaistent there, and we are off the charts, so we definitely won this round, however I'm not sure what the stars actually do. Which is scary. In any case this right now will tell us if we get the ribbon or not, this concludes all judging, thank you for your fine efforts, now all that remains is the pulse pounding proclamation of the winner! The judge looks ready to make the announcement. I will now declare the winner! Alright announcing the results! The preliminary round, we netted... nothing, the round two results however, this is where we pulled it out of our *** and hopefully we can beat Zigoon, which we can! and we won the contest, with our super amazing performance in the second round, so Resevoir won, so I can now actually show getting a ribbon which is amazing. Alright, Luke and Resevoir, congratulations! Here you are, please accept your prize! We confer on you this ribbon as your prize! So yes, ribbons in this game, when you win a contest you get a ribbon, and that Pkemon becomes eligible to compete in the next rank contest which is in Farlarbour town which we haven't seen yet, but by going to Farlarbour town we can get Marill to compete in the super rank contest there, so I think we are going to do that when we reach Farlarbour town, Marill is going to be our contest goer it would seem, and at the end, this guy appears! Oh hello, you were in a Pokemon contest weren't you? It's easy to tell from your Pokemon. I'm a reporter, I'm working on a story about Pokemon contests, if I may, would you be willing to answer a few questions? Ah yeah sure, go ahead, oh you will? Thank you. Briefly, how would you describe the contest you just entered? I will describe this contest...well umm, hi? Thats the best I can think of. Just hi. Ah, I see, that's a very edifying comment! You get a good feel for what the contest was like. I've got one last question. When you hear the word 'Cute' what image do you get? Alright lets make this the worst image ever. ANGER! I am ANGER! I get ANGER! when I hear the word cute. So that's how you imagine the concept of cute to be. Thank you, you've given me some good ideas. I think I can write a story about Pokemon contests now, ah poor guy. Maybe, just maybe, this story will even make it to television. I hope you'll look forward to it! Oh dear, I feel so bad for that guy. Anyway, theres like this little white square over here, it's actually a painting, if you click it, the winner of the contest will get drawn in that painting, so yeah. I quite like this feature, depending on waht contest it was, they'll get drawn in different ways, like oils, charcoal or whatever, dependent on what it was so that's what a cuute contest winner look like. And well good job Marill, lets go check out your ribbon! So if you click on Pokemon and then go down I think it shows ribbons, no, you want to go on... Pokenav. Ribbons! So that's the final thing that's now appeared for us, we click ribbons, check obtained ribbons, we click on Resevoir, and we see that it has got cute contest, normal rank winner. So we've actually got our first ribbon now and, in Verdanturf town it's quite nice green grassy area and stuff, but I think we should go see Wally and it's the only house with a sign, Wanda's house. Alright, hey Wally, what's going on? Oop, no, that incorrect come on. I lost to you Luke, but I'm not feeling down anymore. Because I have a new purpose in life. Together, with my Ralts, I'm gonna challenge Pokemon gyms and become a great trainer. Please watch me Luke. I'm gonna be stronger than you. When I do, I'm gonna battle you to another uh I'm gonna challenge you to another battle. I'm gonna battle you to another battle? Ok. Uh, talk to this guy. Oh Luke, wally's next door, but boy, there's something I have to tell you. This natural environment is doing wonders for Wally's health. Maybe it's not just the environment, it could be Pokemon that are giving the boy hope! Alright so that was quite disturbing and I actually haven't heard that before but let me give my thoughts on that. Maybe Wally is terminal, with like cancer or something. Because it said that he was an ill boy or something like that and he was frail or whatever and he moved here and it's been doing wonders for his health. and then to top that off, the guy just said it gives him hope. So it makes it seem like there is somehting terminally wrong with Wally, which if that is the case, then I feel quite bad for insulting him a lot. Poor wally. Alright, he just wants to be the Pokemon champion obviously he tries, he wanted a friend as well so yeah, I guess something probably is wrong with Wally, I never actually noticed that before. The way the winds blow, volcanic ash is never blown in this direction. The air is clean and delicious here. Living here should do wonders for even frail and sickly people. You see? There you go. Frail and sickly people live in this town. What about you. Let me see your Pokemon, I'll check to see how much it likes you oh, your Pokemon.. it's getting used to you it seems to belive in you. so yeah, she will give you a ribbon if your Pokemon loves you enough I think. And what's this? YEAH! It's bravo trainer time! Today we're going to profile a Pokemon belonging to Luke. Now this Pokemon boasts a cute rating in the normal rank. Intorducing Resevoir the Marill! The nickname resevoir... even the nickname exudes an air that proclaims 'Cute'! Anyway, when the trainer Luke entered the Pokemon in a contest, we managed to get a few impassioned quotes about hte trusty partner. asked about the contest afterwards, Luke happily replied with a huge grin, HI! well sure, Luke's Pokemon came number 1 in the contest. That line perfectly suits Luke right now I'd say! Wouldn't you also like to know what Luke imagines cute to be? You bet we did! So we asked of course! The answer is all perfectly condensed: Anger! That's what the concept of cute represents to Luke! The last kove Tail Whip used by the Marill is entirely about anger! Bravo Luke. Bravo Marill!
