It's easy to overlook simple things that can make a huge impact. Since GI Joe says, "Knowing
is half the battle."
I want to introduce you to the elegant download page. This is obviously a super simple page
inside of LeadPages but it's a really effective page. The reason being it can be used for
so many things. Now I want to cover a few ways to utilize this page. It can be used
for creating download pages, creating thank you pages. It can be used as a page to send
people to an iTunes app, a page to send people to an iTunes podcast or a page to send people
to a webinar registration page. These are only a few use cases for this page so let's
go ahead and take a look at setting this page up for each of these scenarios.
Let's say I just emailed my list about a really cool report I published that I thought would
be helpful to them. If I send them from the email to this download page, I know that I'm
able to track how many people came here and downloaded my report because it will be here
in the LeadPages analytics section. LeadPages tracks it all for me. If I was just linking
directly to the download of the report, I wouldn't be able to track this at all. To
set this up as a download page, we'll add a download image and then I'll need to add
my copy to let people know what to do on this page and then I'm going to link to my download
right here. Now I would send a link to this page in my email and then when people clicked
on the link they'd come to this page to download my report. LeadPages will tell me the analytics
for how many people load the page. This way I know how my page is performing.
Okay. So let's look at this process in real time. Click on the link in my email and here's
the download page we just created and there's a free report that I can now download. Now
if I were to use this as a thank you page that someone sees after opting into my list,
I would just add and image here, add my copy thanking them for opting in and then I can
either set this page as just a thank you page by turning off the download section or what
we highly recommend is to send people that have opted in to your sales page. This works
incredibly well and it's so easy to do. You can just edit the button text and then put
in the URL of the page you want people to go to when they click the button and now you've
got a page that will send opt-in traffic to your sales page.
Okay. For example's sake let's say I have a really awesome podcast, it helps a lot of
people and I want to start building my audience through my Facebook page. So I'm just going
to add an image, update the copy so people know what's going on then I'll use the iTunes
link maker to get a link to my podcast. Now once I get that I'll paste it in to the bottom
link box and from here, you have two options. First is you can use this URL as it is so
the link will open in a browser window and then from there people can open the podcast
in iTunes.
Or the second option is to paste in this URL and then change the HTTPS to ITMS. Now what
this does is when someone clicks on this button it actually opens the podcast in iTunes on
their computer. It makes it really easy for people to subscribe and either way is good,
as people don't have to search for me. It sends them directly to my podcast. So from
there, I'll just edit the button text and then I'm all set to start building subscriptions
to my podcast.
Now what if I had this really fun game called Angry Games that I thought people would love
and I was selling it in the app store? If I wanted to start building my customer base
using this page, I'd simply add a picture here, add my copy telling people to check
out my app and then again I'll go to the iTunes link maker and get my link for Angry Birds.
I'll come back to my page and then paste the link in the box. Now I'm going to change the
HTTPS to ITMS and now when somebody clicks on this button it actually opens in the app
store so they can purchase my really fun game.
Finally, let's say that I wanted people that just opted into my list to sign up for an
upcoming webinar that I'm hosting. So I'll modify this page so that it sends them to
my webinar registration page. So I'll just add the image and then I'll update my text
to let people know what to do and then I'll change the button text and add the URL of
my webinar registration page in the link box. Now when people opt in to my list they'll
see this button here and they can click on it and it will be routed to my webinar registration
page.
If you're not a LeadPages customer, you will need to be a coder or hire a coder to make
this downloadable template below work. For nonLeadPages customers, it's a bit more difficult
to set up. Here's what you'll need to do if you're not a LeadPages customer. If you're
a developer, click on the link below and opt-in to get this download page and our lead magnet
delivery system will deliver it to you. You modify the HMTL and CSS using your coding
skills or the coder you've hired. Integrate it with your autoresponder, WordPress, etc.,
get your landing page code that you've generated and then finally publish the page. So these
are all the steps that you'll need to take if you're not a LeadPages customer.
If you are a LeadPages customer, you don't need to do any of this. The pages are already
in the member's area so you can start using it there. This page is awesome and we know
you'll find a ton of uses for it so let us know how you're using it in the comments section
below this video. Again, if you're not a LeadPages customer and you'd like to use this template,
head to www.LeadPages.net to get LeadPages.
I'm Jeff Wenberg. Have a great day.
