The Cowboy President by Max Crider. The past president of the United States of America
that I chose to read about is Ronald Wilson Reagan. Reagan was President from 1981 to
1989. I chose to learn about this president because he was very popular. He was an actor
and played a football player. He won in a landslide victory over Carter and Mondale.
He got 525 votes and Mondale got only 13! He was shot but he still lived. He was the
only divorced president! He liked to wear his cowboy hat. He quit smoking. I think Reagan
was crazy!
