What's up guys? It is Bryan here. Today, going to be doing my first top 3 video for
the 49ers. So, I'm going to be going through the best and the worst things to ever
happen for the 49ers. In this first series, I'm going to be doing the 3 worst seasons
in 49er history. Why top 3? Why not top 5? Because if i do a top 3 list, then it's
more prestigious. It's either for the very good or the very bad and in
this case, it is the very bad for the 49ers in terms of seasons. These are in my
opinion, the worst 3 seasons that they ever had as a franchise and
hopefully with Kyle Shanahan running this team, they don't have any more seasons in
the future. Let's just get into it, but before I get the video started, please
give it a "Like." SUBSCRIBE if you're new to this channel and follow me on social
media. That would be very helpful and without further ado, let's get this started.
Now, coming in at number 3, I have the 2015 San Francisco 49ers.
This team was just absolutely awful. This is the year they are coming off of Jim
Harbaugh getting fired by Jed York and losing a power struggle with Trent
Baalke, the general manager. It just went downhill. So, they hired Jim Tomsula, the
defensive line coach for the 49ers, which a lot of people question on why did
they hire this guy, but apparently. I'm looking at everything. He was just being
a puppet to both Jed York and Trent Baalke
and it did not work out. They ended up going 5-11 after a very promising
first game against the Minnesota Vikings. Winning in convincing fashion 20-3 on
Monday Night Football and then proceeded to lose every other game and only
winning 4 more games after that. Another noteworthy thing was this is the
goof up play from Colin Kaepernick against the St. Louis Rams where he saw
Torrey Smith and he did not even bother to look at Torrey Smith when he was just open!
Open and nothing happened. I do have to blame Jim Tomsula
and offensive coordinator Geep Chryst. Oh my gosh! Very, very fun time to be a
49er fan after Jim Harbaugh leaving and I'm pretty sure Jim Harbaugh was
laughing at this 49er team when they fired him in 2014. So, awful team. Couldn't
really say anything else. Not a lot of talent after all these players leaving
and I didn't even mentioned that. A lot of players decided to retire after Jim
Harbaugh leaving. So, I'm going to be listing
plays right now. Bubba Ventrone, Patrick Willis, the very beloved Patrick Willis,
Chris Borland in his second year, not even second year. He decides to retire
from football. Justin Smith, the popular Justin Smith from the Cincinnati Bengals,
Anthony Davis and then a couple players got traded like Andy Lee and a declining
Vernon Davis. Just all these players decided to leave after Jim Harbaugh got
fired by the 49ers. So, can't really say anything else. The only really
noteworthy players were Joe Staley and NaVorro Bowman and other than that,
there's nothing too crazy. Colin Kaepernick didn't had the best year of
his life. Blaine Gabbert ended up taking over later on and
leading to some wins as well. Very awful. The low point of the 2015 49ers was
losing to the Cleveland Browns 10-24. Now that was just freaking awful and
after that, Jim Tomsula who got canned in favor of Chip Kelly. So yeah. Can't
really say anything else about this 2015 squad. I'm glad it is over
when it was over. Coming in at number 2 for the worst 49ers season in history, I
am putting in the 1978 49ers. Now, I had to do some research on this and I pretty
much mentioned a lot of things from my Eddie DeBartolo Jr. career retrospect,
but this 1978 squad was absolutely awful! I just don't know where to start. Going
2-14. [Reaction] there's no talent on this team. I'm looking at this roster. There's
O.J. Simpson, but that was a goofy trade and nothing happened there. He was pretty
much washed up and done. There's Freddie Solomon, not too bad.
There's Randy Cross, not too bad. Pretty much, that's it. There's nothing else I
can say about this roster. There's no talent. Joe Thomas, one of the worst GM's
in NFL history and in 49er history. Just absolutely doesn't know what he's doing
and made the Simpson trade as I mentioned many times already. They had
the worst record in the league. They only scored 219 points, the fewest in the league in
that year and they said an NFL record with 63 turnovers. How does that happen,
63 turnovers? I don't know, but 1978 very, very bad year. I mentioned a lot of it
already in my Eddie DeBartolo video. If you wanted to watch that, it's in the "Card"
section there. In 1979, they ended up hiring Bill Walsh and boom! History has
been made, but this is a big blot in the 49ers history. Very bad, I can't say
anything else about it. So, I'm going to leave it like that
and going to be moving on to the number one spot. Before I gets to the number one
worst team in 49er history, I'm going to be doing honorable mention. I'm going to be
putting the 2016 49ers from a couple of years ago as well. Very bad year. Chip
Kelly, Trent Baalke. This was the final straw for Trent Baalke and he ended up
getting fired after the season. It was really bad. The only wins they got was
against the LA Rams. Other than that, that's it. Pretty bad
and also the rushing defense was just one of the worst in NFL history. If you
see my 2016 videos, I always kept complaining about this and [reaction], it was just
really bad, but I thought 2015 was a little bit worse because they had some
talent. I can't really blame Chip Kelly too much because he wasn't really given a
lot of talent. A lot of players already left by then. So, I put 2015 in number
3 and I'm putting 2016 as an honorable mention, but it's really up there as one
of the worst teams, but I won't put on my list. Coming in at number 1, I'm going to
be putting in the 2004 San Francisco 49ers. Oh! With all these other teams for
the 49ers. I just don't know where to start.
There's a lot of teams... Ah man! This is just one of the worse
because a lot of players already left like the 2015 49ers. Jeff Garcia was gone,
Garrison Hearst was gone, T.O. went to the Eagles, where he went to the Super Bowl
with them. This turnover rosters as well. Dennis Erickson, the college coach
was the coach for the 49ers unfortunately and I'm glad he got fired
after the season, but the one thing about the 2004 season that is a mention is
that from 2003 and beyond, they have never made the playoffs until
Jim Harbaugh in 2011. So, this was just an absolute low point during that time in
the 2000s, mid to late 2000s where they don't make the playoffs. I just oh man.
Absolutely awful and just looking at the roster right now, there's really no one
on this team. The only mention player is Bryant Young, the really great defensive
tackle, but other than that, nothing great. There's Mike Adams, but he was a raw Mike
Adams before he is what he is right now in a couple of years ago with the
Indianapolis Colts. There's Andy Lee, he was a rookie then. There's nobody else.
It's really devoid of talent and just the wins and losses prove it, 2-14.
They beat the Arizona Cardinals twice in overtime. So, they did not
win a game in regulation or anything like that. They are absolutely destroyed
in almost every game. You look at the games right here. Oh wee. 2004? Very, very
bad and then they never made the playoffs until 2011 as mentioned. So yeah.
The worst 49ers squad in history. I can't really say anything else. I'm pretty much
done you guys. Please let me know what you guys think are the worst seasons for
the 49ers in 49er history. Was it this season? Was it 1978? Was it 2015?
Was it any other seasons that I forgot to mention because the 49ers
have a lot of good seasons, but they've had a lot of bad season and these 3
in my opinion are the worst of the worst. I'm going to keep it like that you guys.
I hope you guys enjoyed this top 3 list and I hope to make another one next week.
I'll see y'all then. Bye guys. Love y'all. Y'all have a good day!
