Why do you like Osaka?
- Because I like the people here. - The people?
- Osaka people are really... - Is there anything special about them?
The people are warm and very easy to talk to.
That's why when you get used to Osaka-ben people will tell you "Wow, you're great at Japanese".
In Osaka, you can really talk to everybody, like people in the streets or supermarket for example.
It's really easy to make new friends.
Well, as long as you can speak a bit of Japanese that is.
Like introducing yourself.
Something that we often hear from the students is that there is a lot of kindness in Osaka.
They tell us that they have a very friendly image of the city.
Please tell us a little bit about Tennoji.
It's not too huge, but instead just the right size for the kind of place,-
- where you can both see a lot of things and do a lot of shopping.
Right, there's both a shopping center and a traditional style shopping street nearby.
There are two subway lines available, both JR and Kintetsu.
- Nice. - Yeah it's convenient, right?
- So did you make any new friends already? - Sure, I made several.
That's why I have no problem speaking Osaka-ben normally.
- Right, so where do you get to talk that? - In a shared house.
- You live with Japanese. - I live with 3 other Japanese persons.
Well, in school you study standard Japanese.
But outside in real life there is Osaka-ben, so you get to learn from your surroundings as well.
That's right.
