What's going on? Hey, good to see you! It's been a while.
- Talk about playing the biggest baddie.
The biggest baddie of all time. It's a lot of pressure, yeah I guess so, I guess
that's his title.
He's a 2000 year old immortal creature.
You know what? I know this is going to sound really
like a cop out but I am actually not approaching him in any system whatsoever.
I sort of am taking it beat by beat. I don't really know who Silas is yet,
I'm slowly finding him, I'm slowly finding his...
wants and needs, and his
vulnerabilities and his strengths and I think that he has a lot of humor.
I think Silas is so powerful that he's decided
to not show that power by being overtly aggressive.
I think he toys with people and he plays, and I think he
does it for his personal pleasure and enjoyment.
Stefan will have a love interest with himself in the box at the bottom of the quarry.
That's it, he'll be making love to himself, unfortunately.
Silas, I don't know, the idea of Silas having a love interest is kind of
hilarious because he's so,
kind of like powerful and wise
but, you know, you never know. Maybe he'll fall in love with, you know, a human.
I hope so man, sometimes you just gotta move on.
(laughs)
I found out about it like six months before anybody else and I was told not
to tell anyone. They asked me, "Hey, would you be interested in doing this?"
I said yes. So it wasn't a surprise for me.
No, but I had to keep it a secret from everyone.
The final moment when I threw Stefan off
the cliff. I actually, that was an actual safe
and that was an actual cliff. And I actually threw the safe off the cliff,
and it was really empowering, I don't know, and just morphing into this character and
I was like...
Even for ten seconds, it was just nice.
Well I'm done with my break, we're shooting now, but on my...during my break I
travelled, I did a movie, which
I'm very excited about. The movie of a...
a friend of mine that I've known from childhood. It's a non-title film with Emmy Rossum and
Ron Perlman and yeah, it's going to be great.
Thank you, guys! Yeah.
