Tokyo is a city were we can find a lot of different parts.
Today I'm gonna show you the original parts of the capital city.
Harajuku is the comic side of Tokyo. It's the place of teenagers, artists and people interested in new trends.
Just in front of the station, Takeshita Street is the symbol of the neighborhood.
It's a walking street where we can find a lot of clothes shops.
New artists and designers show new trends, especially uncommon styles which are famous in Harajuku.
Harajuku is the center of a particular lifestyle in Japan.
I love Ichiban Japan and Kawaii !
"Kawai" is a concept based on the innocence of childhood which is in oppositon with the adult society.
It's a way to respond to the hard educational and professional system in Japan.
Then you'll find a lot of kawaii shops in Harajuku.
There are a lot of different things, keystrap, Slam Dunk shirts, kawaii wallets, ...
Are you good kids ?! If you are, you'll have kawaii sweeties,
you'll be able to play to Tamagochi (kawaii game),
you'll choose your new kawaii socks,
and even your dog will be able to wear kawaii clothes.
It's so cute !
Kawaii is everywhere in Japan life, especially in marketing and communication.
There are a lot of mascots for everything and anything.
You already know one of the first which is mascot for lucky cats : Helly Kitty !
There are also mascots for police, firemen,TV channels, compagnies, cities, events and even for Ichiban Japan ! Incredible !
It's wonderful !
For men, we use another word but it hasn't really the same meaning as kawaii.
For those who like surprises, you can find in Harajuku "Otakara Ichiba" shop.
The concept is easy : you have to pay 300 yen and choose a mystery boxe which can contain
an iPod, a camera, Disneyland tickets, or just a keychain.
Chance is only for adverturers who can catch it. That's why I could't shrink for this challenge.
I was proud of my strenght and my luck. I just desserved the best.
It sucks !
Hmmm... But it's kawaii, isn't it ?!
- It's that ? - Nobody can't like this *** gift !
Something that you must see in Harajuku is the crepe shops.
Japanese crepes are very different compared to french crepes. They are rolled and can be with a lof of ingredients.
For me, I chose a crepe with strawberry, cheesecake and chantilly.
Yummy food that you can eat alone or with friends.
But I couldn't bring you to Harajuku without showing you an amazing shop : Condomania !
It's a nice shop with a lot of different things to find :
so you can find condoms, and condoms, condoms too, and even condoms !
And you'll find the condoms which will give you the all the strengh that you need : Kenshiro condoms !
My attack has an inestimate power, even me I can't estimate it...
We're gonna make party !
Now come with me, I'm gonna show you Tokyo by night !
To have a real idea of Tokyo nightlife, what do you think about coming with me for one night ?!
Please come and don't let me alone my friends !
We're going to Roppongi !
Roppongi is the foreigners neighborhood, one of the famous places in Tokyo.
That's here where I'm gonna meet my friends to spend the night with them.
First, we're going to Roppongi Hills to meet them in "Rigoletto" bar.
It's a bar with mature people and its particularity is that you can easily meet other people.
The gaijin come here to meet japanese friends and Japanese come to meet gaijin.
That's why you'll meet here japanese who are open-minded to foreigner cultures.
Hey, let me some food, don't eat all !
After dinner, we gonna make crazy party !
First, we go to private party.
It's a party organized in an apartment rented for the event. We pay an entrance fee to participate
for rent and then we can have fun, eat and drink whatever we want.
Funny detail is that we have to remove socks cause it's a rule when we enter in a japanese house.
Look at this, guys, I can't believe it, it seems to be a pajama party... That's cute
One of japanese party particularities is that they love to dress up.
Costume parties are very famous in Japan and you'll be very surprized when you meet in street a lot of dressed up people for Christmas and Halloween.
Challenge was here. Considering the fact that I'm a man (even if I doesn't look like with that costume), I could'nt refuse that challenge.
Gimmie that ! Oh yeah, look at this ! I'm beautiful !
I couldn't expect it but he seems to have fun.
There is another theme that I want to talk about : alcohol in Japan.
To show you that, we leave the private party to go to a club : Jumanji 55 club !
I don't know every club but this one is very nice !
In Japan, the place of alcohol isn't same as in France. In a very stressing society, alcohol is a way to enjoy and forget the stress.
So drinking is good and you can usually see drunk japanese in street or subway.
Even compagnies organized nomikai where everybody drink alcohol. Then anyone can feel free to talk what he really thinks and be critic.
The following day, work goes on and everything is forgotten.
In club, a lot of japaneses are totally drunk.
They have often joyfull alcohol and be very friendly or close to you.
Don't think wrong, remember that they just can't drink a lot of alcohol and just want to have fun and nothing more. There are often misunderstanding.
After moving our bodies on the dancefloor, we're going to an izakaya for the end of night.
Izakaya is a place where we go especially to drink, but you can eat too.
By the way, who's gonna pay ?!
In Tokyo, a lot of restaurants are 24h opened, we really can eat anything that we want anyday and anytime.
So a in night in Tokyo is the possibily of doing a lot of different things to have fun, meet friends anytime and all night long.
Before leaving you, let's discover a new part that you'll find in every Ichiban Japan episode :
"meeting with..." For first, we're gonna meet Kazu.
Hello, my name is Kazu, I live in Machida and was living for 1 year in France.
Kazu, in french cooking, what's your favorite dish ?
Because of my life in Bretagne, I like "galettes". Even in Japan, I try to go to galette restaurant.
Which galette ?
Complete with tomatoes and mushrooms !
What's the best thing that you like in France ?
I like culture, music, films and food. - I see, what kind of films or music ?
I like Cédric Klapisch films and I wanted to go to France to see his last film, only to watch that film.
For music, I like Stromae (ah, he's not from France but Belgium), Tété, Psy 4 de la Rime, Soprano.
Now, tell me what's the worst thing in France and french people ?
Something has surprized me : french people doesn't wash the rice before cooking
and they put soja sauce on rice when they eat. It's embarassing !
I see, and besides food ?
They are always in strike !
As usual, let's end with the end word, the word that we say at the end of the night.
