(Soft music) Finally
we will practice very specific technique called breath
of fire. It is quite difficult technique so
when we'll start practicing may want to start practicing
thirty-seconds, then increase it to one minute, and then
go from there and start increasing it with
a bit of practice. Let's go back to abdominal
breathing through the nose. Put you hands
on your stomach to make sure that your abdomen
is engaged as you breathe in
(soft music)
and make sure that as you inhale your abdomen expands
and as you exhale your abdomen collapses.
A very typical mistake
is to reverse that action..to go back to
improper breathing so we have to be aware and make sure that
you are aware of
breathing properly...while inhaling your stomach always
comes out...when you exhale it always goes
in...even if you are [breathing] quickly or slowly
(hands on stomach) this is just a checking
checking point
and now we are going to make this breath much shorter
shorter inhale, shorter exhale
at about the same amount of time
of inhaling and exhaling. (begins exercise)
...and as I do that please notice that no
other part of my body is moving but for my abdomen that is expanding on inhale
and contracting on exhale (continues exercise)
Now you may start slowly
doing it in the slow way...and as
you become comfortable with this type breathing...you may increase the speed
of the breath a little more
and finally after some time with this exercise
you will reach a speed that it should be done in
which I will now demonstrate (begins rapid and shallow inhaling and exhaling)
...and finally when you are done with you exercise or practice
take a deep breath in and suspend
for about 10 to 15 seconds
(holds breath)
